I POTENTIALLY won an amazingly HUGE prize...need advice.

A friend of mine forwarded me a Facebook post from a company that was offering a great prize saying that I was named as the winner. I read the rules and it said I should have been notified yesterday by either phone, email or mail. I had NO idea I was the winner because I have gotten no notification what so ever. I private messaged the company on Facebook and commented on the their post stating that I won about 2 hours ago and haven't heard back anything. I've never won something this way (being mentioned in a FB post) and I'm not sure if I did the correct thing in responding. The suspense is KILLING me! Any advice would be appreciated!!
 
Is there any other way to contact the company, via email, phone, mail or a contact us link in the rules?

You probably already did this, but check your spam, deleted, and block senders list (if you know what to look for there).

Contacting them was the correct thing. If you can find their rules page it may even state how to contact them as well.
 
Thanks for your help all! The only contact info is a physical address for the sponsor. I checked all my email, except my spam permanently deletes when you delete it (doesn't go into a trash folder) and I'm just really hoping I didn't skim over it yesterday and delete it on accident!

Check the 'Other' column in your facebook private messages too. I received a winning message in there once from SuperJeweler and never saw it...and I use messenger everyday. Just wasn't alerted.
 
Thanks! I read what you wrote and was like "ooooo good idea!" No such luck though, nothing in the other folder. Guess I'm just going to have to learn to be patient and wait for them to respond. They haven't even read my message yet, so I guess it's better than them reading it and not responding. I'm just in the "it's too good to be true" mode right now! I am not going to believe it until I actually get word that I won!
 
So, you actually won a contest you didn't enter? Really cool if you did,especially a big prize..best of luck and let us know!
 
I pretty much had the same thing happen. I won a 4 night hotel stay in the Virgin Islands and saw my name listed on facebook as the winner before I was notified. I contacted the company and everything went really smoothly. I think they typically sent out a prize pack to notify the winner, so I would have gotten that in a few days if I hadn't seen my name. I did take the trip and everything was legit. I don't think there is anything weird about it as long as you entered the sweeps.
