San Diego was in May and they have been in June or July usually but due to the cost of tourist season they chose the late August date.

YOU CAN DO IT, COME ON SA AND MAKE THIS THE BEST CONVENTION EVER.

Clean and wild fun by the best bunch of sweepers anywhere in the universe.

I was wondering... what do they cover at a convention like this.  Do they have lectures or activities on how to win more.  I might be interested in going.  It's only about 2.5 hours away.

Yes there are lectures and speakers talking about winning strategies and stupid things we do. It is real informative and I learned a lot each time.  You get to meet people and talk with them, boy the tips and stories you hear.

Yes tweaka... Churchyyy is absolutely right.  Everyday of the convention there are speakers lined up per the schedule and tell us tonnnsss of information on sweepstakes, the "do's and don'ts" of sweeping, how they won houses, cars, and cash over 10K.  This thing is a blast and the good thing is it's a year away... Gives us plenty of time to save up for it.  You meet so many people who love the same hobby we do.  Then all the siteseeing and shopping and eating and exploring.  A great way to travelllll too

There's so much convention talk all the time at The Other Site, I wonder if they get a cut from the people running it to push it at the forum.

Are the conventions for all sweepers, regardless of what site they use? Do the people at conventions tend to form cliques based on the site they're affiliated with? I have no plan to attend this one. Maybe next time.

How come you don't plan to go to next year's convention?  It's in August of 2008  Yes, the convention is for anyone who sweeps.  They really catter to the ones who do snail mail, but they are getting better at the online crowd.  And yes, cliques are formed according to what newsletter/website you subscribe to.  Lots of people to meet and talk to.  It's such a good time... Try and change your mind on going sweepyhead.  You can sit and me and Tiffy's table.... cheers

I'll send in my registration form in September or October - San Antonio is "just down the road apiece" from Austin, so I will go and my husband, Bob, will too (if I can persuade him - it won't take a lot laughing).

I am looking forward to meeting all of you, especially Ken and Diane (you are going, aren't you headbang)

Would it be a good idea - or not - to bring photos of the prizes that we've won? Maybe a contest to see the most outrageous win or the most poorly conceived (like that Obovo/diamond win)? Just asking....

Hope my husband and I see you there!!! Waving

I would love to go, but it just isn't feasible with my kids and my husbands work schedule.  I will have to wait until one is closer than that!  Where is the 2009 one going to be at???  I think someone posted it before and that it is somewhere out west.  I need one in the south!!!  Nashville would be nice...

Thanks,

The hotel link shows the Riverwalk location, but the advertising shows the Rivercenter location.  Which one is it?

Just wanted to remind everyone that Hotel Rooms can be booked starting this Friday (Sept. 21) @ Marriott.  First come first serve.  I suggest doing this as soon as you can.  The Hotels where the Conventions are hosted at each year always sell out.  Although there are surrounding Hotels you can stay at as well.  I just like staying where the event is, easy access to the "party rooms"...  headbang

Can't wait to see you all....... 11 Months away........

P.S.  We should start a Sweeps Convention Countdown.... laughing

Hey Tiffy, I think it's $125 a night.  My best friend and I will be staying from Thursday-Sunday.  And of course you can stay in our room.

Way to go on getting your room booked Missunder......
