I'm new to the sweepers world. I am a US citizen but I'm visiting Jamaica. Can I still be eligible for contests and sweepstakes? I will return to the US in approx 2 mons. I wanted to get clarification before I waste some good entries sunny

the best place for clarification on entering while being a US citizen living in another country, even if temporaily, is from the rules.  some may track you IP and know you are not located in the US at the time of entry and DQ you.  Others may go only on your mailing address you give, or you phone number... but if you use a land line then you wouldn't be home to answer. (Not all sweeps call but but sometimes for the really big wins they do).  Personally, I would just enjoy Jamaica and start entering once I got home.

sunny Most sweeps qualify entries according to residency. If you are just visiting Jamaica, then I don't think that is any different than being on vacation. As long as you have an address/residence in a participating area you should be ok.

If you have a permanent US residence, I don't see why where you are physically located at the time of entry should matter, unless, as judge notes:

"... some may track you IP and know you are not located in the US at the time of entry and DQ you"

In 7 years, I only got 1 phone call about a win, and it was to confirm I got the affy and to answer any questions I might have - MARLBORO, they have EXCELLENT customer service btw!!!

If you have an address in the US that you reside at, just check the rules if you are worried for a specific sweeps - I think MTV and VALPAK *only* notify by phone, and you MUST answer, or they redraw, but most will email/snail you to let you know you won, and lots just send the prize with NO notice!

Sweeping is a fun hobby, but if you'll stress while in Jamaica why not wait until you return - soon, right?  Waving
