I ran across this announcement in a local senior magazine "Volunteers needed for Veterans in National Veterans Golden Age games. "An estimated 1,500 will be needed to meet the needs of more than 650 veterans who will be coming to this city (Birmingham, Alabama) in June to participate in the 23rd National Veterans Golden Age Games. The largest senior sports and recreation competition for veterans in the world will be held in Birmingham, June 1-5, 2009.

Volunteers are needed for a variety of assignments, from event set-up to meals, transportation, scoring and timing. All volunteers receive a Game tee shirt and the satisfaction of helping veterans who served in WWI, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War and this year OIF/OEF achieve a tremendous personal triump.
