Im gonna say brooke is going. That first performance was just awful. And she is just so.... magoo. Dont like her. I really wish they would find other artist for them to sing. neil diamond are you kidding me. Its funny that they tell them to make it their own, make it fresh, well why dont they let them sing something from the last twenty years then.

I think that Brooke should go, also. She forgot her words or messed up during her performances twice before and her version of "I'm a Believer" was a total nightmare. Jason has been really good before. He better bring up his game if he doesnt want to get out. And Paula... I've always wondered if the judges had things already pre-ready (On notes?) to say. Maybe not but now I'm suspicious.

Welcome to our AI chat, xxemberxx! Yep! 'I'm a Believer' was a nightmare ~ I hope she is gone this week...I'm tired of seeing her pout! I'm not usually this mean, but she is getting on my last nerve!

Here's my recap of the show this week: Jason Castro: "Forever In Blue Jeans": decent performance...he doesn't have the strong timbre that Neil Diamond has when he sings this song; "September Morn": a so-so performance; a bit pitchy in spots; he showed no feelings in the song; Jason was slammed by all the judges. David Cook: "I'm Alive" and "All I Really Need Is You": he did well in both songs, although his performances were really nothing special...at least he was in tune! Brooke White: "I'm A Believer": blah...! Her voice was too low for parts of this song and her words were not distinct; "I Am I Said": this performance was much better...she did a good job with this song. David Archuleta: (my sweet, wonderful, pretty boy) "Sweet Caroline": was a very nice performance, although not his best; "America": what can I say except OMG! This was a great song choice for young David. I will have to listen to his full-length performance on iTunes; I was hoping before the show began that he would get to choose this song to sing, and he did. David has such a great personality...his smile and his soft-spoken ways makes me melt! Everyone just keep away from David...and nobody will get hurt! Syesha Mercado: "Hello": this was a nice, solid performance; "Thank The Lord For The Night Time": not a bad performance. The music of this song sounds eerily like "I'm A Believer"...a person could sing the words of I'm A Believer to this song.....

Finally! She got her butt canned! Oh, and for last night's Paula Incident...boy, she was acting crazier than a rabid skunk! It was hilarious...her messing up the critique of the contestants. Poor Paula...I still love her, though. And it was all explained on the news too.

Yeah, but I don't have to watch that one!! I can't miss the Davids singing!! I think I am gonna download both of David Cook's songs!

I just wish the judges would take the judging more seriously. With the thousands or maybe millions of people voting can't they get their notes straight? Not to mention that they make millions each for their "judging". One other thing about Idol that has always bugged me. Why don't they get a independent accounting firm to tabulate and announce the vote totals? I think this would dispel much of the suspicion about rigged votes. Just my 2 cents. I still like the show.

I think they have to have the votes that gets people's attention and makes them tune in to see what the heck is going on. I can't help but to think that is why they booted Michael Johns! When it didn't up the audience, then they got rid of Carley. They wouldn't get rid of the Davids because that is going to be the final two ~ period! Everyone is wanting to see that battle. I think Syesha is the next to go, followed by Jason. Then you have the two David's fighting it out. I would love to see David Cook win, and maybe they will due to the fact that a rocker hasn't ever won, BUT they made sure to put out the bad press on Archie's Dad...makes me thing that he might be the one who wins. Sorta root for the poor kid that is mentally abused and has overcome hardships to win it all type thing. Don't get me wrong ~ I love Archie's voice, but I'm not sure that he should win...I think DC has showed more originality and can be a great over-all singer. It should make for a interesting final!

I feel so bad for David Archuleta. At first I didn't really believe the rumors about David's dad being overbearing, but I saw a clip on the Internet of Naomi Judd saying that he's the worst kind of stage dad. Judd was a judge for star search back when David was on, so she's somewhat of a reliable source. She also said that Archie's father was so bad that they had to put him in the security box!

I haven't seen that interview, but from what I have heard that wouldn't surprise me...I hope he gets a great contract and gets away from him...even though my gut says that he won't ~ he is probably to beaten down!

Are you there? Come out of your choco-infused coma and step into reality a moment. Ping has savaged young Archuleta! She should be penalized somehow. How about a month-long ban on supplying her choco fix?

Yeah, part of me wonders if Archie's timidity is due to mistreatment. I hate saying that, because one never really knows another family's situation, but at the very least, it seems from the Judd interview and other things I've read that his dad is a bit of control freak in all areas of Archie's life. Whether that's because he's the family star and Dad is living vicariously through son or it's simply a matter of a dad loving too much, who knows? Personally, I'm having a hard time deciding between the two Davids. Archuleta certainly has a better voice, but I think Cook brings something extra to his songs. DC simply has more life experience and has dealt with more situations that he can use in his music. It's a tough call. They're both very good. P.S. I don't like Jason or Syesha. Syesha has some pitch issues, and Jason is... well, unique.

You know I love him! I just don't know if winning would be either one of the David's best bet. When they win, then they are just basically hostage to Idol for at least a year. Both are going to be huge, HUGE stars ~ there is no doubt of that! I just really want what is best for Archie. I think if his Dad would leave him alone he would do so much better. I think the kid is a nervous wreck...it is almost like he is on autopilot at times. I still want him for my SIL though...I don't think you could ask for a better kid ~ at least now! I hope he keeps his innocent ways about him!! Yeah, part of me wonders if Archie's timidity is due to mistreatment. I think you hit the nail on the head about Archie! And I do like both David's. I have to say that since he got his hair cut I think DC is smokin' hot...just raw sex appeal going on there ~ me likey! Unique is a very good word to describe Jason ~ I think his appeal would have to be limited.

Well, I have to say that Archie was my favorite tonight! I didn't like DC's first song that well, and the second one didn't blow me away either!
I think unless something really strange happens that this was Jason's last performances! Both of those were pretty bad!

DAVID C! DAVID C! DAVID C!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. gonna win the whole thing. David A is cute and has a nice voice but David C has more talent and will sell more records. Although given the track record of AI winners It might be better if he comes in second. Jason~~ What can I say. I just want to scream at the TV hey! you are a white boy OK! Do not do Marley. He stinks. Syeshia~ lovely voice, very cute girl will come in third. Its going to be the two david's in the end. I hit post and tammy beat me to it. we were typing at the same time

Mixed bag this week. Nothing knocked my socks off, but some performances certainly made me cringe. Quick thoughts and out-of-10s:
David Cook - Good job on Hungry Like the Wolf and Baba O'Riley. I love how he puts so much into his songs without overdoing it. However, his voice did sound a little tired in spots. Score: 8
Syesha - I hated everything about the Tina Turner impersonation. Second song was decent, but there was an iffy note in there. Score: 5
Jason - OMG. Absolute nonsense! The only thing positive thing about his performance was the fact that he communicated with the audience a bit more as one of the judges pointed out. Score: 2
Archie - Very nice job this week. Decent rendition of Stand by Me. Unique take on Love Me Tender, but not sure I cared that much for all sections of the arrangement. Score: 9
