David C is gonna win. David A is cute and all but he is so old fashioned. have you heard him sing anything that would be a hit today? I havent.

Here's my LATE take on this week's show:

David Cook:  first song, "Hungry Like The Wolf" by Duran Duran...solid performance; nice song rendition.  I have always liked that song anyhow.  The second song, which I call "Teenage Wasteland", but which actually called "Baba O"Reilly", by The Who...another solid, rocking performance.  Good job!

Syesha Mercado:  first song, "Proud Mary", by Tina Turner;  nice job...she rocked the song, with dance moves and all.  Her second song, "A Change Is Gonna Come", by Sam Cooke...nice bluesy performance.  Syesha was dressed marvelously!

Jason Castro:  first song, "I Shot the Sheriff" by Bob Marley...bad performance...omg!  He just doesn't have what it takes to sing reggae.  Ever.  His second song, "Mr. Tambourine Man", by Bob Dillon...he forgot the fraking lyrics, fer gawd's sake!  I knew that was his death knell.

David Archuleta:  first song, "Stand By Me"....was wonderful.  His voice is so pure!  His second song blew my mind, "Love Me Tender", by Elvis Presley.  OMG!  HOWL....!  Totally awesome...this song rendition was packed with emotion.  Either Randy or Paula said that every word of the song came out wrapped in feeling.  He could have been singing that song to me...I actually got goose-bumps.

Now, after the vote........I just knew it would be Jason Castro.  Especially after his major gaffe with forgetting the lyrics to the song he was singing.  Duh!  He knew it also...or should have known.  Randy was right when he told Jason to pack his bags.  Hehehehe...good bye to those awful, nasty, dirty-looking dreadlocks.  Good bye to mediocrity.

I do think that David Archuleta will walk away with this...with David Cook right on his heels.  A wonderful conclusion...a David-David winning team!    Ah...they could make a sandwich with me in the middle. 

Syeshia was very good but its going to be the david's.. I would looooove to see david a go home. He is just so blah. He sounds the same every single week.  He was really, really boring tonight. Could he sing an upbeat song once in awhile.  He is so depressing makes me want to open a vein.

As thomasisunderrated posted -- BLASPHEMY!  Off with your head.  Ping, inform Wolfie of this violation.  3mnkids1 needs to be punished in some way.

To David's defense, he didn't get to choose but two of the songs this week...only one; which was an upbeat, modern song.  I think he should stick to the ballads.  As Simon Cowell once told David..."he could whistle the song and still be better than the other contestants." 

Here is my recap:

David Archuleta:  "And So It Goes" by Billy Joel; another solid performance.
"With You" by Chris Brown; a decent performance, and different from what he usually sings.
"Longer" by Dan Fogleberg; sappy, but sweet. 

Syesha Mercado:  "I've Got You" by Alicia Keys;  BLAH!  A so-so performance.
"Fever" by Peggy Lee;  BLAH! Part 2
"(something about penguins");  BLAH! Part 3   

David Cook:  "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" by Roberta greet; an awesome performance, very nice indeed!
"a song from Switchfoot"; BLAH!  Not his best; he was pitchy.
"Don't Want To Miss A Thing"; he rocked that song; very good.

None of the songs were really great.  I look for Syesha to get the boot tonight.

In all honesty, I'm starting to like the Davids equally well.  They're very different, and I could see myself buying both of their records.  However, my hunch is that this will be the result due to the teen vote:

You are SO brave making that prediction...wow!  I don't know if I would be that brave

I am being punished. David A is in the top two. 

unfortunately David A will win. however, I predict he will have a career like studdard, aiken, and hicks..non existent.      while David C on the other hand will sell albums like chris daughtry 

I know David A has alot of fans here but omg!! He is soooo boring.     The Awww shucks, licks lips, awww shucks, licks lips... makes me want to strangle him.

Wow...David Archuleta pretty much ran away with the competition tonight.  He was flawless in his performances, and yes, "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me" was great!  David Cook did really well too...but he was a bit pitchy in places during his first song.  He sang too low (or soft) during the second song...I found it hard to make out some of his words.

I wish them both the very best in life, especially Archuleta.  I hope he can get away from his father and become his own person.  I wonder if he is Mormon (out of curiosity).

Yes, he is...I don't think they have made a point to say anything about it on this show, but I do remember them saying so when he was on Star Search!

Whoo-HOO!!!!  David Cook!!!  I don't believe it!!!  YAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont think I have ever been this happy about a stupid TV show.    My daughter and I acted like a couple of lunatics when whats his face said david cook.

  Boo!  Hiss!  David Cook...I hope gets an infected ingrown toenail.  

What an ending...congrats to David Cook.  Congrats also to my David Archuleta, the little Mormon cutie from Utah.  They both have promising careers ahead.

I must say, however, that this final AI episode was way too long...omg!  I did enjoy seeing ZZ Top, George Michaels, and Nash (from Cosby Stills & Nash).  Oh, the werewolf herself (as part of the top 12) was there, singing in her raspy Janice Joplin voice.  I don't think she ever smiled the entire two hours...nothing but those painted, pursed lips.  She looks like some demonic creature from a B-grade horror movie...   I also got to see The Joshua Brothers for the first time.  I'd only seen the name in print before tonight.  Another new group for me was Republic One...where David Archuleta sang.  He fit in well...the group sounded good.
