I was wondering if any of you thought that there is any advantage to entering at a certain time period of One Time Sweeps?  For instance, say a One Time sweeps is running for 3 months.  I would assume the huge bulk of entries would come within the first few days of the sweeps starting since it is being listed on several sites.  Do you think there is any advantage to waiting a few days or a few weeks to enter these when there are less entries?  I know the winners are chosen at random but wonder if some computer programs or sweeps admins first choose a random day of the entries received and then a random entry within that day.  Any thoughts?

sunny I think if we were able to figure out the random time we would all be winners. I have entered in the beginning, in the middle and at the end of one time sweeps. Have won many times and feel confident in saying that it doesn't matter when, it just matters that you do enter!

Some swear by entering 1x's right at the end, no matter how long they run for, while others say it doesn't matter.

I do know that waiting until the last day can backfire if they end early in the day!  nono

The biggest strategy is to make sure you get an entry into the sweep before it ends.

I tend to pre-screen the new stuff on a daily basis and dump the stuff I want to enter into a mysweep category (since I'm plus, I have a custom where I also dump all the 1x FB, CD, DVD, Book entries too, but the regular one worked fine before I upgraded). And then I sort and enter trying to stay as far ahead of the expiration dates as I can and remove them from mysweeps as I go. It's nice to watch that number drop and I've gotten it down to 0 a couple times, but with as many 1x's that are added every day (+ the 1x that are in those other categories) it's not easy to keep up with and I usually have a few hundred with further out expiration dates that linger for a while.

I also will look through the list on occasion and make sure I enter the 1x that have daily or weekly prizes earlier rather than later.

So, that's more of an organizational strategy that a strategy strategy, but it works for me Smile

As long as I get an entry in, I never worry about when that entry arrives.  If the winners are truly a random draw, the time of entry shouldn't matter.

I am still *fairly* new at this (a little over 3 months contesting), and I have entered at various times in the contest runs for many contests and still have not won one- 1 entry contest! I would *like* to though! LOL  laughing

Based on what I've seen, 1x sweepstakes doesn't matter when you enter -- as long as you do enter.

Cheers!
