I'm from just east of Scranton in Pike County. If there is a northeast PA sweepstakers club I'd be very interested.

Up until about seven years ago, I was in Milford. I never met anyone else around there who sweeped. I think I was the only one!

Well, I was quietly sweeping from home, but never thought to seek out others. My mother & sisters belong to a couple of sweeping clubs where they live in NC. They have so much fun I'd hoped to find one near here. What area did you move to? Were you able to find a sweepstakers club there?

I was born and raised in New Jersey. For the most part, 30 minutes down the road from Milford. I lived in the Pocono Woodland Lakes for 15 years during my first marriage. If it weren't for getting out and about in Scranton or Middletown, NY, I think I would have lost my mind up there. I came to hate living there. The area was so depressing to me. I now am remarried and live on the eastern end of Long Island (don't like it here either but for different reasons). My husband and I are going to move to Florida which we are so looking forward to. There is a sweepstakes club out on Long Island that I tried to join, but I was flatly told that they didn't need anymore members. Oh well, I wouldn't have the time for it anymore. My life has gotten way too busy these days.

What an awful experience at the sweeps club! Somehow that sounds like a death knell for the group.
Living in the woods here really is a different perspective. I thought I'd go nuts the first few years since I'd moved here from the Washington DC area. The lack of shopping and cultural activities made this seem almost primitive. But since I don't really like shopping and am married to a biologist, we find lots to do here. However he doesn't understand the sweeping at all. At least I have my sisters and mother to share the hobby!
Hope you're able to move to Florida soon and settle into an area that you love.

I always hated shopping too; and when I first moved there, I loved it. After 15 years though, it got to be the same old, same old. Pretty much did everything, been everywhere over and over again. Trips to the parks, canoing, studying little critters scooped from the water, off-roading, hiking, water falls, you name it. I had so much of it, I could scream. 40 of my 47 years living in the boondocks is enough for me. Now, I want a house in a nice quiet spot but close enough to where all the action is! Someone we know from Long Island moved to Hawley. I wonder how he'll like it there after that amount of time! I'm no longer am interested in any clubs. Heck, I've come to have very little tolerance for people when I venture into the public!

I'm in southcentral PA (west of Gettysburg) in a little town surrounded by state forest on all sides. Can't get here without driving through the forest. It is beautiful in the spring and in the summer and in the fall, but in the winter, I'd rather be somewhere else. We seriously talked about Florida this winter. I'm not a shopper so not being near "good" shopping is fine with me. I don't know anyone else that sweeps in my area. My sister used to but I think she burned out.

I'm just a little north of Pittsburgh, Although I was born here have just recently come to love the area. Great for families and I like the change of seasons except for the winter. Happy to know there are "fellow Sweepers around me!
