MIAMI (AP) -- The number of U.S. households faced with losing their homes to foreclosure jumped 32 percent in April compared with the same month last year, with Nevada, Florida and California showing the highest rates, according to data released Wednesday.

More than 342,000 households received at least one foreclosure-related notice in April, RealtyTrac Inc. said. That means one in every 374 U.S. housing units received a foreclosure filing last month, the highest monthly rate since the Irvine, Calif.-based foreclosure listing firm began its report in January 2005.

April was the second straight month with more than 300,000 households receiving a foreclosure filing, as the number of borrowers with mortgage troubles failed to abate.

Thats awful.  I hope everyone here is doing alright not feeling the pinch.

3mnkids1 : I am in Central Illinois and I do not know what the government says that the numbers are but I know what is happening around me. There are so many people getting laid off and loosing their jobs. The cut backs are unreal. Where dad works they have made them take a week and some months 2 weeks off of work per month because of cut backs. There are so many people in trouble and loosing their homes and vehicles.
We are fortunate so far. I hate to even read the newspaper because it just makes me sick. Without those people working it puts more of a burden on those that counted on their contributions through work or the extra cash that they had to donate for such as to feed the homeless and the humane society or other organizations.
It is one thing to lose your job but then you have to lose your home too. Sorry to be so lengthy but I have seen many people loose their jobs and then their homes. It is very sad to me!
Thanks for the Post!
