The stores stage so many silly shopping stunts for Black Friday. Do you have an insane plan to go shopping at 4 a.m.? I wouldn't want to be an employee.  sleepy

Today I woke up at 3:30 a.m. and would hit one store that's giving out freebies tomorrow if I arise early again. If not, I'm going to avoid the stores.

lol yea we went to kmart today. They had a sale, I think they are the only ones that did it today. Tommorrow we are going to walmart.

Well today was crazy. My husband wanted us to get up at 6:00 instead of waking up later. My mom wanted me there at 6:45. Well we got there at like 6:10. There was already a line of about 20 people. Its a good thing we got there that early. WEll then my mom showed up about 6:45 and there was like 50 people there. So she came and stood by us.
Well the thing that made us mad. They gave the tickets away to get the big items. And then took all those people out of line, and let them go into kmart before us.  Well there was alot of people that were all behind us, that got to go before us.
Also they had family with them, and all those people followed them.
So alot of people were mad about skippers.

Well we got a cute hopscotch rug for kailey, little pet shop toy, Surfs up dvd (yea I know I'm not gonna wait to get it in the mail (its already late anyways) Barbie fairytopia dvd, some cute clothes that were 40 % off.
Rocky got a back massager chair Usually $99  he got it for $49
I got Spiderman 1 and 2 dvds for like $2 or 4.99 Catch and release dvd, a bunch of other ones.
and we got some other stuff.
Then we went to Walgreens and my mom got a ton of ty teenie beanies. She loves those things. lol. She gives them to the grandkids and nieces and nephews.

Kmart is ok cause alot of people are busy on thankgiving morning. So they dont go.
But walmart tommorrow is horrible. Last year my dad got kicked out of walmart because he was waiting in line for 30 mins to get a video camera (the employees told him that was the line) Well it wasn't. So when they started giving out regular cameras, he got really mad.

Well I was about to isles over and could hear him screaming.  He was in the middle of a huge crowd. I had to push through the crowd. I told them, "Thats my dad yelling, let me through." Well him and the security guard yelled, and then the guy escorted him out. My dad vowed never to go there agian on black friday.
Guess what he is doing for black friday??? Referreeing soccer at Disney. lol

The one store I want to visit is giving out 1 cent items. You buy it, and they give you a gift card rebate on the spot. I want a few of the food items and a new toaster oven. Otherwise, no thanks. I'm trying to clear out my house of the excess stuff.

I went one year on Black Friday and swore I would never do it again and I haven't! Nothing that they sell is worth getting hit over and those people that day were fighting like cats and dogs over things.

I love the holidays and I'm happy and just don't understand fighting and getting hurt to save a few dollars. I really feel for employees that deal with such people that are just plain mean and hateful.

The holidays is a time for happiness.

For those of you who do venture out be safe.

I did black friday once where I stayed all night long starting at around 9pm and I will never do it again. I only left with $20 worth of items as well.

tiff, you might find a line going behind the store at that time. There were already 100 people in front of me when I did this a couple years ago and I went at 9pm at night. Bundle up and stay warm!

Well I live in fl, so its not that cold. lol.  Also the good thing is, Walmart is open 24 hours. So they actually let us in early. Before 5 am. WE just cant get to the sale stuff, because they put it all under black trashbags.

I stopped doing "Black Friday" years ago.  The deals aren't nearly as good as they used to be.  Plus, you can find most of those deals on-line already the day before.  Not to mention, you can get deals like this all year round if you just keep your eyes open.  There will be some great deals still being offered between "Black Friday" and Christmas.  Maybe, even better deals since sales have been continuing to drop the past several years.  The retailers are getting desperate and will continue to offer deals to keep up the sales.  I also can't deal with all the crowds and some of the crazies out there.  Monday is "Cyber Monday" where similar "Black Friday" deals will be made online.  We have everything we possibly want and need.  So, we usually just buy something that we may need for the house like furniture or appliances.  We don't get nutty with the children either.  They have more than enough and just get a few things.  We don't want them to equate presents with Christmas.

Shoppers hit the malls like locusts:

Shop they must

I double couponed an orange juice and some cream cheese at the supermarket. That was my total expenditure of the day.

I went to Lowe's at 9:30 am. The Crock Pot I wanted was sold out, of course, so I bought the more expensive one, just like they wanted me to. Then I went to Sears and got the Craftsman work chair for my husband. 1/2 price. Not bad. Then I went home and stuffed myself with leftovers and crashed out on the couch watching thanksgiving movies. AHHH I do love thanksgiving. Hope you all had a good one!

I'm with 3mom's.  I went one year because I thought my daughter HAD TO HAVE this stupid Barney talking toy (oh how I hated Barney).  So, I get there and get it.  But the only problem was that they let so many people in the store - no one could get out.  No one could literally move.  One little kid got so hot that he was puking in the floor and not one of the adults around them would let him out.  It was so crowded I don't really know what could have been done anyway.  They had to call the fire department for crowd control.  I swore off after that and I'm sticking to it.  The bargain wasn't that great anyway.  I have been surfing the net and have found LOT's of really good deals.  There is always free shipping this time of year so I am doing all my Christmas shopping in my warm little footed pajamas with a cup of coffee in my hand.   whistle
