I am so sad cry  I went today to check on Buster and just to let him know that we haven't just dropped him off to leave him there and he wouldn't even look at me.  He HATES me now.  I know I had to take the dog and get the treatment done for the heartworms, but why did it have to be SO soon after we brought him home from the humane society???  I don't know if he will ever trust us again.  I feel like the worse animal parent in the world cry cry  It is almost as draining having a sick animal as a kid...

I promise I will stop moaning about my pets before to long...can't help it yet ~ to worried!

He feels like nonsense right now. It's like open heart surgery and they dont' give any pain killers.

A friend of mine had his dog attacked by a pack of wild dogs (which is why we in the country SHOOT those pets you drop off in the country, they get vicious).

Preacher was ripped up and had over 200 stitches. The vet said that most times, they can't give pain killers to dogs, they can cause other problems, including death  cry

Preacher got over it and so will Buster. I would bring him a few treats and love on him every day while he's there

And moan all you want. Eveyrone is here for you  love

Thanks gorgor ~ we took him a bag of his favorite treats today.  He just looked so defeated.  He wouldn't even look me in the eyes ~ it breaks your heart, ya know?  You can't explain to them why you are leaving them, at least with your kids you can stay at the hospital with them ~ at the vet, they are by themselves.  Poor baby has been through enough.  I just can't stand to see animals mistreated!  Or babies, or the elderly, or the mentally challenged...anyone that 'people' would consider weak!  I get all upset and want to take care of them all...

He's just had a great big dose of arsenic. You'd look bad too! The trick is to poison the worms, but not kill the dog

If dogs react the same as humans to arsenic, then everything should taste bad to him. Nearly poisoned husbands report this problem. Luckily, he probably won't remember a thing!

You took him from jail then returned him to jail.  To him he is back in jail again.  In time he will trust you and love you again but you have shocked the poor doggy.  Remember that dogs can wrap you around your finger if you let them.  It is best to stroke and pet him, talk to him and bond with him.

When he gets home things will return to normal.  Health comes first then happiness.  You would not want a dog full of worms who dies young so think about how you are saving his life.  Dogs and kids are really good at milking a situation.

If you want I could thrash you with a stalk of celery if that makes you feel better. laughing

He's a dog they have a short memory  laughing The minute you get him home he'll love you again. I got my dog from a shelter and I still see some affects of the abuse she went through but she is the best dog we have ever had. She's all personality.

I just love dogs and I know he will be fine. Post some pics when you can so we can see Buster.

I wasn't going to tell her what it was.  nono

But if he is going home, he will do fine. Most die within a few hours if the arsenic kills them.

He'll get over it and quickly
