I don't know if this is the place to get this type of help but I've tried every place else.  I can only open 1 window. ex - If I go into SA then open another window for another website, the 2nd website overrides SA.  I cannot toggle like I could previously.  However, if I keep backspacing I will eventually come back to SA.  This is in internet explorer

I have some system restore, microsift support, checked my antivirus, my cable co., dell, reset defaults.

If this isn't the place for this type of computer help, I understand.

Thanks,

Venice - have you tried checking in TOOLS>ADVANCED?

Maybe Page Transitions was unchecked?

Question -
IE 6 on XP pro.  Window closes when another is launched, can never keep more than one window open at a time in Internet explorer. Any idea how to remedy this? Thanks, Jim
Answer -
It's possible that repairing the program will help. Here is detailed instructions from Microsoft on how to repair IE on XP:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=318378

You might also want to update your system by click Start, Windows Update. It will take you to the Microsoft site where it will scan for any updates you need.

If you need further assistance let me know.

When troubleshooting, try the easiest fixes 1st  Smile ;

I also found:

If you have installed the Yahoo Toolbar uninstall it and see if the problem disappears. The Yahoo Toolbar has caused this problem for many others

And:

http://forums.techguy.org/windows-nt-2000-xp/563122-can-only-have-1-window.html

In IE tools>options>advanced and under browsing deselect "reuse windows when launching shortcuts"
