There are soooo many blog contests now and it takes forever to weed through the one-time entry sweeps now. It used to be fun to go through them, now most are blogs. It would be really nice to just have regular sweeps in the one-time category and blogs separately. To me, it seems, they are really just clogging up the one-time entries. Please???????

At this point, there are no plans to add a blog category. Maybe in future, but for now, the blog ones generally fall into "One Entry". The editors are good about noting in the listing that a comment is needed to enter for those who want that information ahead of time.

I am really curious - why don't you like the blog sweeps? They seem to me to have the best odds to actually win a prize. Did you have a bad experience with them or something? |

Thanks guys... celticbikerbabe - it's not that I don't like them, it's just that they tend to take a little longer and I'd rather sit and do them "later" when I have lots of time. I like to enter the other regular one-time sweeps, as they go a little quicker. I do enter the blog ones, don't get me wrong, but they are just more time consuming. Amy - the comment about "post a comment to enter" does help on these...it saves a bit of time in passing them by. But I'm afraid I'll miss some if I think "oh, I'll come back to them later". But thanks for posting so admin can see - you rock!  |

OK, how about this - save them for later, don't check off the SweepsCheck√ and use the NOTES feature to post a note to yourself {I always hit enter a few times before & after my note to make it REALLY stand out} Then just post BLOG, or whatever to that note, then when you have some time, you can quickly go through your saved sweeps and see the ones you haven't yet marked as entered with the SweepsCheck√ and where you posted that note!!! And yes, I AM the queen of the work-around, lmao!!!   |

Forgot to add - it's the norm to put sweeps into their entry frequency {and it's MUCH easier on the editors!!!} the exceptions to the rule are IW's, snails, and now DVD/CD sweeps. I'm not sure if you saw, but some did NOT care for that change {DVD/CD sweeps in their own categories, regardless of their entry frequency} but those of us that like to skip them LOVE it!!!  Anyway, creating more categories makes things more difficult all around, {can you imagine if we added a Blog category - then people would want voting, photo entry and/or essay categories, etc... YIKES!!!   } and since Blog sweeps aren't always 1x {I found a weekly while researching this topic} it would just make things confusing. I had another work - around idea: do a search for Blog/leave a comment sweeps, then do as I suggested above. Then you'd be sure to catch them all  |

Thank Amy - those are some good ideas. I can see your point with the different categories (and too many of them). I'll try your ideas, and I think they will help.
BTW - I love the DVD category!
