So I moved recently...3rd time in 14 months. I'm young and life's been a little hectic this past year! Smile Frankly i feel like some kind of moving pro. So I recently sat down to start changing my address online with the places I can. I never realized it would be such a hassle.

See my new address has a 1/2 in it following the house number . I live in an apartment that is the upper level of a house and that's our VALID postal address. Unfortunatly computers won't accept it as address in some cases. I would write out the world half but I honestly don't think our mailman would notice. And for the first time ever in my life I don't trust our neighbors (the people downstairs) to return wrongly delivered mail.

THis means I can't enter some sweeps (they won't accept my address)...which I can deal with. But I'm frusterated that places like my credit card company won't accept it (atleast online). So I guess I'll be making some phone calls...it's just so much easier to do things online.

Can you not change the ( 1/2 ) to a letter like "A" or "B"?  I would ask the post office to see if it would be acceptable, after explaining the problems you are having.

If you can, get a UPS store mailbox, if there is one close. We have had issues since we are a rural box and others have had issues of certain JAs (ahem, Eprize) who can not seem to get past the "suburban ideology" of what is an address.

Most of them have special address and they accept UPS, Fed Ex and also DHL.

My friend did the exact thing that Stick mentioned she had "B" added to her address to cut down on wrongly delivered mail.  It took her a couple of weeks to get it done through the post office, but they did do it ~ just stick to your guns!  You have the right to get your mail and not have to worry about it!  Good luck!
