I just recently, a couple of weeks ago, bought a new coffee maker and it already broke! WTH! It wont do anything! Why dont they make things that actually last? now I cant make coffee and im really about it. I NEED my coffee. ugh! This is not good. I am not the most pleasant person to be around when Im not loaded up with caffeine. I will make a note a stick it to the front door for the children to see before they come into the house.. Please Be Advised....
Coffee Maker broke today. Mom has had no coffee and is liable to snap at the slightest provocation. Please keep this in mind as you come into the house.
Thank you for your understanding Management.. That may make them turn around and head to friends houses.

I can sympathize with you! I love my coffee and I have three kids, 2 dogs and my hubby. They know to leave me alone until at least my second cup. I bought a new coffee pot last year and it lasted three whole weeks. I went back to the old ugly one I had been trying to replace. But hey it still worked. Let me know if you find one worth buying

Aww, what a pity your coffee maker is broken. I happen to have an extra, brand-new, still-in-the-box Senseo Coffee Pod coffee maker (a $60 value). A shame you are not a neighbor, or I'd give it to you. I have one and it is wonderful! Well...I don't drink coffee myself; it is for guests. I do make hot chocolate in the thing though.

Our coffeemaker isn't working right either. It produces a lot of steam, but very little coffee. I've been boiling water in the tea kettle and pouring it in. The coffeemaker is really just a hot plate at this point.

The cheap Mr.Coffee's make excellent coffee, even according to Consumer Reports. At $14 a pop you can keep several around...and if you have a tea kettle the old fashioned Melitta Manual coffee maker or a coffee press might be a good alternative....we always keep a Melitta as back up

They don't make them like they use to. Be careful about buying cheaper coffee makers. I remember one member here bought one and within a week it was the cause of her home burning down. I love my Bunn. Makes coffee super fast!

They don't make them like they use to. Be careful about buying cheaper coffee makers. I remember one member here bought one and within a week it was the cause of her home burning down. I love my Bunn. Makes coffee super fast! Errr...they all catch fire, best thing to do is uplug them when not in use.... The U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of Bunn home coffeemakers due 17 reports of the bowl or lid on the coffeemakers melting. The defect has been traced due to an electrical failure in the heating unit.
The recall involves the following Bunn home coffeemakers:
Model GR-10B Model GR-10BD Model GR-10W Model GR-10WD Model B-10B Model B-10BD Model B-10W Model B-10WD Model BT-10B Model BT-10BD The coffeemakers have six-digit date codes ending in "01," "02," "03," or "04." The model number and date code are stamped on a small white or silver sticker on the bottom of the coffeemaker. The 10-cup coffeemakers have either a black or white plastic base and top, and measure 14 and ¼ inches high by 7 inches wide and 13 and ¾ inches deep. The word "BUNN" is printed on the front of the machine in chrome.
Coffeemakers were sold at department and hardware stores nationwide between February 2001 and August 2004 for about $100. Consumers should unplug the coffeemaker and allow it to cool for at least three hours before checking to see if they have one of the recalled units. Consumers can then contact Bunn-O-Matic toll-free at 1-800-385-2652 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday, to receive a free repair or purchase a new unit at a discount.

Oh, wolfie...the only good tea is sweet tea! Here in the south, there is sweet tea, then there is SWEET TEA...which is basically sugar with water mixed in. A glass of that will have you bouncing off the walls with a sugar rush. And it is sooo good on a hot day, a cold day, or any day really.

Yep sounds like southern sweet tea to me, around here they drink it when the spoon can stand up in it by itself. I like hot tea, but gotta have my coffee! I bought one of those Hamilton Beach coffeemakers that you just push the cup against and it fills your cup. Sounds good until I realized every time I filled my cup, about the same amount was leaking out onto the counter.

The biggest coffee mishap I ever had was my sister in law. She was visiting and got up super early. She set the pot up to make the full 12 cups, then went back to bed. When I got up a bit later, coffee had bubbled out the top, shorted out the built in clock, and poured all over the floor. SIL had neglected to use a coffee filter.

I can relate... without coffee holly is no longer jolly. We once went through 3 coffee makers in a week, they are cheap cheap cheap. Been lucky with our last one though... it has lasted over a year.

I don't even know how to make coffee. Then again, I have never owned a coffee maker. Of course, I do have a Cocomotion hot chocolate maker! Get's my morning off on the right foot!

I'm with sticks and wolfie on this one! Tea! Sweet tea runs in my veins ~ lol! Now my Momma made pancake syrup sweet tea and it was a bit much, but reign it in just a little and you can't beat it!
I also love hot tea. My Grandmama always made this when we were little (now this had enough sugar to kill a fly!), and it is still what I crave when I get cold. Love me some tea!

nice to know im not the only coffee freak here. I love sweet tea also. I think I might be addicted to McDonalds sweet tea. Its soooo good. Much better than the tea I make at home. I did buy another one and this one better last! I should probably have a back up just in case.

I also really like McDonals's sweet tea! It is quite sweet, and only a dollar (large size)...you can't beat that for a fast food beverage! I used to like the sweet tea from the local Sonic. However, the sweetness of the tea corresponded to who made it at that time...so one never knew just how sweet (or not) their tea would be. It was quite annoying to buy a Rt. 44 sweet tea from Sonic and then have it not be sweet enough...grrr.

Did you know McDonalds tea is only sweet in some parts of the country? When I first went to a McDonalds in Sacramento and ordered tea I nearly died....

Most areas of the country outside the South don't know how to fix sweet tea properly. The people living in these areas are just ignorant...and need to be taught the proper Southern way to fix sweet tea. I mean, why serve sweet tea if you aren't going to fix it properly?

Me I got to have my coffee, and in summer sweet, sweet tea and coffee. I got 2 of those senseo coffee makers that make one or two cups at a time, but be careful girls, My water has a high lime content and after about a month, (even with cleaning the machine with vinegar) anyway after a month when you push the button to make a cup no water comes out, and the first time it did it I sat there looking at it, then it suddenly shot super hot water out around the seal and burned the you know what out of me. I said a few new words, I called Sensco and they said that they had some reports of this problem and were investigating it. They did give me my money back at least. I brought a good old fashion peculator and it never gets mad and spits hot water at me. Not a good thing to have happen when you are not even awake.

I have to plug Cuisinart coffee makers--They have a 3 year warranty & they back it up no questions asked. Ours started making so much noise after 1 year that we thought it was going to take off! Just called the company--they sent one right out--& we sent the old one back in that box. Real easy.
