Can anybody tell me the difference between this site and that other online sweepstakes site? Other than you have to pay for their membership and here it`s free!

some list the sweeps differently and don't offer sweeps check. Some of the sites aren't as friendly and easy to get advise from member's. I think it really boils down to where it feels like home Smile

I was there for almost 2 years yandrfan74, and left at the beginning of this year, so I really can't comment on what they have/don't have as far as sweeps tools now.

But when I was there? They seemed good to me - then again, it was the only site I frequented/was aware of at the time.

Now of course, with all of the wonderful tools Ken (our oh so responsive Admin) has implemented - shortly after a member suggests it btw, instead of 6 months to a year of "It's coming" -  hands down, this site is MUCH better IMHO.

When I came here, I discovered a real community, full of caring people who aren't jealous of others, and who are genuinely happy for others when they win - it was SUCH a BIG difference on the whole, that it shocked me that I was fooled for so long!!!

But don't get me wrong - I met some wonderful, caring individuals there too - they just all happpen to be here now      8)

I was lucky to find SA first, but after some of our members started coming over here from there I had to go in and look around.  I was amazed at the way people talked to each other on that site.  It just isn't what I would find relaxing in a sweeps site.

I LOVE SA!!  Not only for the administration, but for the kind and caring community that we share.  And Amy is right, we are glad for other members when they win :D   Why pay for the rest when you can have the best for free???

Good luck and I'm glad you found your way to SA!!

I too am a reject from over there.  I started sweeping here and ended up there.  A year later, I ended up back here.  In a year, the changes to SA were amazing.  I was so glad I ended up back here.

I paid for a year's membership there.  The premium sweeps are all here.  The only real difference is they have a feature called Shazam which opens your saved daily sweeps for you.  I found it never worked well, so I never used it.

SA is far ahead in the tools department.  We have unlimited mysweepstakes, A reminder system, Sweepscheck which allows you to check off the sweeps you have entered/chose to ignore....  And, most of all, we have the nicest forums out there.  I won't comment about the forums over there.  Just know I echo what Ping and ll1 have to say.

I hope you like it here.  Let us know if there are any questions you have that we can help you with.

Welcome to SA!  You have found the best sweeping site on the net!  :D

A really, REALLY big difference, for me --

I used O-S for 6-9 months a few years back, and the only thing I won was a t-shirt.

I've used Sweeps Advantage this year since February, and I've won a TV, checks ranging from $25-1000, and a truck & trailer.

I'M NEVER GOIN BACK, BABY!

I think this is the best sweeps site. the people here are truly nice. If you need help, they offer it to you. If you didn't receive your prize and you need to get in touch with the company, someone will post the address and telephone # of the company for you.If you have a question, everyone tries to answer it. And nobody is jealous if you win. If you need a code , they all pitch in and try to get it for you. It's a great site. The people here are great! The site is easy to navigate. it saves all your sweeps for you. the system works really well i think. and it's free to use. that's awesome.

I never paid to join a site. for me , this is a hobby. win or lose. Since I've been a member here, i've won alot. I'm greatful for anything i win.
products, toys, gift cards , and coupons, especially coupons. I love to try new products when they come out.

This is a great site.  :D

There are many nice people over there. Both sites have their positives and a supportive community.

The biggest difference to me in the two sites in the attitude on behalf of the management toward the members. Even though you have to pay them over there you are expected to toe the line, keep your mouth shut and behave with unquestioning loyalty towards the management at all times. They can and do ban you for little or no reason -- and in my case, they may not even inform you of the fact. If you paid them and got banned -- well, tough.

Here, a free site, the management is far more responsive, and changes are implemented when requested. I do not feel spanked or treated like a supplicant. These differences are important to me.

I, too, rarely used Shazam, but some people like it.

sweepyhead - I agree with you 100%  8)

RE: shazam - I use open in tabs in Firefox, which is similiar, BUT, I have CONTROL over which sweeps are in my bookmarks!

So instead of daily/login/IW mixed together, I can open & enter whichever ones I choose on MY schedule.  :P

I prefer FF over shazam, can you tell?

I do the same thing, which is to load my browsers with entry links and let them tab to the sites. Shazam is fine for some people, but I prefer not to fill my monitor with 20 open pages.

An honest comparison: The Other Site makes very clever use of color. When you save a sweep, the button changes to green. There are several parts within a sweep listing in different colors that makes the divisions easy to sort out. When you click on a link the browser changes the link to a different color, letting you know that you've clicked there before. They give you more parts of the sweep to click on like entry form and homepage. Moving from their system to SA's can be confusing.

This site has an excellent personal notes, which is sorely lacking over there. There is also a reminder feature which I haven't used, but it looks very good. There is no division between premium and free sweeps, so everybody is free to discuss any sweeps they want anywhere on the forum.

In a nutshell, both sites have good features, but this site keeps getting better and better, while the other one is static. Even better, this one is free.  :D

Bummer aruho!!! They don't deserve you there!!!

But - at least you got your money back and have an idea why you were banned - I lost out on 8 months & never got a rational explanation!  :P

And you arrived at a MUCH better sweeps site to boot - community, tools, the best sweeps - the whole package!!!  8)  8)  8)

Thanks, amyshulk.

I love it here!  This site is the best I have seen because it does what one expects--->focuses on providing the best sweepstakes and grooming its members to be the best sweepers.  I like that there is no jealousy and everything is really what it is.

aruho - I think I HAD to go through that, to really appreciate Ken, Diane, GoSweepWin, and the wonderful members here to the fullest - their just due, you know?

AND - while unpleasant at the end, I learned a LOT there, and so I am able to be an asset here - just like you are!!!  8)  8)  8)

While many of us found SA based on similar circumstances, I think it is best if we focus on the good here.

Yes, it took some adjustment here as the sites are set up very different.  But, here is what I think SA's strengths are:

1.  The people!  They are kind and friendly 99.9% of the time.  Yep there is always a resident problem, but I won't tell anyone ll1, so don't worry!   Yes, some days people are cranky, but usually, they know manners and respond appropriately.

2.  The features here are far ahead of those elsewhere and are improving daily.  Just check the announcement forum.

3.  You do not need to pay to belong.  That being said, please click on the banner ads on the top of the page and enter the SA sweepstakes.  This is where the funds to keep this site free are generated, so it is in our best interests to spend a few minutes to help out Admin.

4.  Admin is always here and always receptive to suggestions and quickly corrects problems.  They are friendly, supportive and fellow New England Patriots' fans!  What more could we ask for.

5.  Knowing the trouble many of us have had at another site, the members here welcomed us all without judgement and helped us navigate the site and encouraged us to participate in the SA family.

6.  I race through months end sweeps thanks to the sweeps check system.  Now, I can actually do my dailies almost everyday because of the added time I save.

7.  Sweeps are organized by categories.  This is so useful when you are short on time and just want to enter a certain ones like instants.

8.  Ken is an actual programmer and can make the changes we all want.  He is not a self taught computer geek, he is an actual professional who creates change.  He does not have to wait for the software company to issue updates.  This is by far the best part of SA.

I am sure other sites have great reasons to be members there as well.  I like it here and I am grateful for the kindness and friendship shown to me here.  I think there is integrity here and true respect.  For me, it is worth all I endured to have come back and found how wonderful this site has become.

I think we should all focus on the positive at SA and forget the negativity that brought us here.   Anything else would be preaching to the choir and, since none of us like to have SA trashed, let's not spend time focusing on the negative energy from anywhere else.  It will just take away from our sweeping time!

Now, go win big!
