Not only MongoBongo- but what about that other new one, Truth about Dating??? Just seems too easy..... are they just ad sites, no real prizes?? What do you think? Legit or not?

You shouldn't find them listed on SA. I doubt they are valid.

I was wondering about Warm Dust too. And MyPlingo. I found links to these through SA but they aren't listed here anymore. Think I've just wasted a lot of time on those two.  scratch

There's another called ZoomXS that is still listed here. It looks suspiciously a lot like MyPlingo... there's a paragraph about sweepstakes that is the same on both sites. Don't think these are legit..

Thanks, you guys! You rock!  It's nice to  have this forum to get some input.  I sure hate to waste my precious time on spammers!!!  I do not think I will be entering those.

Let's see if I understand ......

Zoomxs, Mongo Bongo, Warmdust, My Plingo, and  Truth about Dating are all bogus?

How about Zoota, GadgetMag, Max Beauty, or Crazy Frame? They are so similar.

I think Golfdigita is another one. I would sure like the scoop on these. What is their ultimate goal; advertising products? travel? It isn't clear; that's why I'm leery of these sites and fear they are mining for addresses.

I was curious and went to warmdust.com and it has disappeared (404 file not found).  Shady! I'm sure I've entered one of these (bummer), we'll see what happens.

Anyway, thanks SA! This is my favorite site! I like that you respond so quickly to member concerns.

Found another one for ya.. Divaba

I noticed in the comments someone posted a paragraph from the site that they found suspicious. Well I remember seeing that exact same paragraph on some of those sites that I mention earlier, the ones that have been removed from SA. And of course, the site itself looks very very similar to those other ones.

seems to me we are soon going to complain every new sweeps site right off the SA listings.  What is it about these sites that people don't like?  The only one I have had problems with is MaxBeauty.  I enter mongobongo, myplingo, zoota, gadgetmag, family covers, decogalore, and gastro mag every day, (checking for the new listings, not just the ones removed from SA) and have no increase in spam, no virus or popup problems, so what is the problem others are having?   people started complaining about these sweeps right after someone said they were getting pop ups from one of the listings (can't remember which one) and it turned out they just didn't know how to turn on their popup blocker, and all of a sudden all these sweeps were being accused of being bogus spam sites and were removed.  If I win from one of these sites I will let everyone know!!  Some of the sites I mentioned above even advertise SA on their sweeps page (I will can check which ones, maybe 2 or 3, or maybe only one but one for sure) so if they do that I can't understand why their sweeps aren't listed.  Maybe it is just me, and it probably is, but it seems that people are getting more and more parinoid every day about spam.  Spam is just one of the costs of sweeping.  OK I will get off my soapbox now.  I have probably made some people mad, and they will probably speak up and let me have it and those that agree will probably keep their mouths shut.   But anyway, I have spoken my piece.  Good luck sweeping people!

Your post did not make me angry at all, and I am not paranoid. I understand the difference between spam and advertising. I am responding because my experience is not quite as you described and all experiences and opinions are welcome in a discussion, so that we can see the picture from different angles.

My pop-up blocker was turned on, but new pages, not just pop-ups, opened from those sites.

I understand the point you are making, about hasty removal of sweeps because people did not know how to turn on their pop-up blockers, but I think there was more to the problem than that. For example:

Myplingo, MongoBongo, Family Covers, Deco Galore, VacationMag and MaxBeauty have been removed from the site. None of the site owners replied to me when I asked about these promotions.  whistle

but just saturday or sunday there was 2 or 3 new listings for MaxBeauty, which I avoided like the plague because I get virus warnings from this site.  I am just frustrated that it seems I am the only person not having problems with some sites.  As far as not getting responses from the sites, I have tried to contact the nbc/brita sweeps several times as to why I can't log in with my nbc user id with no response ( when trying to enter I am told my password is wrong so I request a new one, they send me a link and I click on it and am told my email does not exist, I try to register and am told my email addy is already in use) Does this mean that the NBC Brita sweeps is not legit?  I guess I just feel that the squeaky wheels are getting greased too much and those of us who are not having problems have to find other means to enter sweeps.  I will admit I am in a crabby mood today so that may be why I am speaking up but just because I am crabby doesn't mean I don't honestly feel the things I have said.  Anyway, win big people!  We never all agree on everything but we can all try to win!!!!!

I promise I am NOT beating a dead horse, but in my last post I said that some of the sites that SA won't list sweeps from have links to SA on them.  Those sites are My Plingo, Mongo Bongo, and Gastro Weekly.  Just an FYI.  Good luck sweeping!!!

You might try calling up one of the posted winners on the winners list and ask them.

in the case of mongobongo their contact info is:

609 SW 8th Street, 6th Floor, Bentonville, Arkansas

google that address and it appears they share the same floor with a E Kenneth Wall PC tax attorney
call him up and ask if there is another company there

looks like registered through domainsbyproxy.com  which hide registration info.  sometimes thats a tipoff

dug a little deeper.  it appears all their servers are either located in overland park ks, or glendale az
frustrated not being able to attach a name other than Ellen Crumpton with zoomxs.info I went back to their
adsense ID and found even more sweeps sites registered to that account only these were much older. circa 2007 fastsweeper.com and freeamigo.com were both registered to Google Adsense Id: pub-4880328458827834.

these had a name and company attached:
