Congrats on going DSL.

I live so far out in the sticks I didn't think I would ever be offered DSL but finally about a year and half ago it was offered and I switched and I've never regretted it for a second. sunny

Yep! dsl is the way to go. I have at & t and its 19.95 a month. I love it. with some instants and such being flash and so graphic heavy I dont have the patiences for dial up. plus I need my phone line open in case the school calls.

Egad!!  Dial-up?  Had it years ago, and I would never go back to it!!  We're on that new cable modem that's 5x faster than the speed of light!! laughing  Well, 5x faster than regular cable!!

ping1970

You tell your husband that you'll be able to enter far more sweepstakes than with dial-up and win more prizes which will more than make up for the cost.  I didn't even come anywhere close to winning as much as I do now when I was on dial-up!!

Strangely enough, I won my biggest prizes while using dial-up. Broadband makes it easier, but the luck factor just hasn't panned out giving me more prizes. I had cable for a year which was pretty good, dsl never worked and I tried it twice. Right now, I'm using Verizon FIOS, which is neither cable nor DSL. It's very fast, and I even have a dynamic IP like dial-up.

I just got DSL a couple of weeks ago and I love it.
I got a deal from AT&T and only pay $10.00 a month! It was a limited offfer that I stumbled across while reading about them taking over Bellsouth.
