I apologize if thsi idea has already been given on this message board but I am new.

From time to time we are all bound to win items taht we don't want...Instead of turning them down or tossing them or throwing them in a closet here's an idea. Donate them! You can give them either to somewhere that they'd be used (clothes to homeless sheleter), somewhere they can be sold to make money (Good Will, Salvation Army or other "thrift shop") or if you win an item of value (an Ipod perhaps...) donate to a live or silent auction for a charity. Just about every charity has some kind of auction fundraiser. You could also donate it to a school or college to be used as a prize or possibly in a charity event also (for example my sorority raises money for breast cancer through many events such as a silent auction). Many organizations will appreciate you seeking them out to make a donation rather than them finding you. And potentially (depending on where the donation goes) you may be able to write it off on your taxes.
