This morning I received a phone call from a blocked number.   When the phone rang I was still asleep and was also thrown off by the number being blocked.  The lady said she was from Expedia and that she was calling to let me know that my entry had been confirmed and that the contest was ongoing.    At first I thought maybe I won, but she never said that.  I repeated back to her that this call is just to confirm the entry and she said yes, your entry is confirmed.  And then she told me to have a good day and that was it.  I haven't received a phone call like that before.  Just seems like they would have to call thousands of people to confirm entries.   Anyone else ever receive a phone call like that before?  I found that there is an Expedia contest ongoing for the 25 Cruises and today is also a drawing day.

I can't recall ever seeing anyone here post that they received a confirming entry call.  The caller didn't confirm any details of my entry, but she did know my name.

sunny A couple of times over the years I have received phone calls to confirm my entry, but never from Expedia and I almost always enter their sweeps. Maybe they needed to confirm your information before sending out a notice. Got my fingers crossed for you!

Thanks, pmeek!  I am glad to hear that a confirmation call of an entry does happen on occassion.  I am really hoping it leads to something!

Thank you, Amy.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that I am a winner.  From reading the rules it looks like they would  not have contacted me had I not won.  Just wish I had been more awake when the call came in.  Then I would have thought to ask if I was a winner or receiving anything to sign and return.

 Waving mcalbreeze

I hope it was step 1 in confirming you, but past experience {from reading} is that they narrow down to a set # of entries for consideration, then they call back/send an affy if you are selected from that pool.

Not helpful, I know - either way you are still waiting to see!!!  crazy tongue

My boyfriend and I also received those calls yesterday. They seem to want to sell something.

Good to know mal1230 and Amy.  That brings me back down to earth, lol.  If it turns out  to be a win then I will certainly post.

My rule of thumb? It isn't a win until I have it in my hands/have confirmation they got my affy.

I'm still waiting for a $250 win I sent in my paperwork on, but haven't heard a thing back on  cry
