beedyr asked
amyshulk...Firefox wants me to update again. Last time I did, it messed up my computer really bad. I lost my Roroform plus other things I needed. I am now off warranty and afraid to update ANYTHING as there will be no one to help me fix it. Can you tell me what to do to make them go away? The update notice comes up whenever I turn on the 'puter. Any options you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

To prevent and stop Firefox from updating do the following.... Open your Firefox browser.
In the upper right hand corner click "tools" then choose "options" in the drop down box.
You'll now see a box with all the Firefox options.
Click on the "Advanced" tab then click the "Update" tab.
From there un-check the box beside Firefox so that it will stop asking you to update

BTW,  "tools" is in the upper LEFT hand corner of Firefox browser window and not right hand corner.  crazy tongue

Thanks for the tip!  I did update to 5 and immediately was sorry.  Went right back and reinstalled 4.  All is well now.  AND I did what you said, and unchecked the check for FF updates box.
