Okay ~ here's the deal, I grew up with a deeply religious Grandmother that lived in a very haunted house in Earlington, Ky.  What I want to know from you is IF you believe in ghosts and if you have any true ghost stories that you would be willing to share.

I love Ghost Hunters and have been on several ghost hunts and just like to hear others experiences!!!

#1 When my son was growing up, he would always see a man with dark hair, beard and flannel shirt in his room. Sometimes you would see a cloud mist going thru the house. He never did any tricks on us, would just watch us. My son and grandkids now live in my old house. I will have to ask him if he ever sees him anymore.

#2 After my mother-in-law died and was cremated we had her ashes in the back bedroom here, waiting for Mother's Day to come to scatter her ashes at the ocean. In the meantime, every night around 10 p.m. we would hear a knocking coming from that room. After we scattered her ashes we never heard the knocking noise again

Pam,those are so neat!  Travis always said that something shook the bed when we lived in our first house.  We also saw strange shadows and such. Christmas night, 92', we were awaken from a deep sleep with his little train set that somehow turned itself own, went around the track once, and then turned off!!!

I was going to put on my post that my Grandmother has always told me so many ghost stories and I know that they are the truth!

Her father, Whit Smith, even had a ghost dog that use to follow him when he was a young boy.  He would ride with his father in a wagon and would have to stop at a gate, the ghost dog would start to run by them at the end of the road, and when they reached the gate and had to stop, the dog would jump up over the gate, and would disappear right at the top.  I just always use to love this one.  I still have her tell me her stories when I go up there!!!

LOL I am watching Ghost Hunters as I type!!!
I also have T.A.P.S. as a friend on MySpace (see link in my siggy)

now on to the subject at hand....
YES, I believe!
when I was in Germany, I woke up at 4am to see my Grandmother at the foot of my bed, and she said "it will be all right", then she faded away, 10 minutes later I had a knock on my dorm door, it was the night guard delivering a message that it was urgent that I call my family back in the states...the phone call was letting me know that my Grandmother had passed away 15 minutes before!

I have lived in a house that unexplained things would happen, lights turning on and off by themselves, pictures falling off walls, cold drafts that would "float" through a room (no open windows etc),` strange reflections in windows and mirrors (looked like a face)

I agree totally Pam, GT you were blessed to have that!  When I have more time I will right my only real truly "sighting" right before Mom died.  I might have told some of you already

I want to get my Grandmother on video telling all of her ghost stories to keep for me in case something happens to her.  I need to get a camcorder soon :D   Or win one??????

I love to hear about all things supernatural as well, here is one that happened to me that is a little on the scary side.

When I was in high school we lived in an old house that was kind of creepy. It had this hidden room behind one of the closets that was really scary to me. Anyway my parents had planned a camping trip one weekend, but I decided to stay home because I had a waitressing job and didn't want to miss any work. So my family took off leaving me home alone. Various strange things would sometimes happen in this house, and one of these things was that the volume on my cd player would sometimes blast really loud all of a sudden. I used to always sleep with the radio on at night, and that particular night while I was sleeping this happened and scared me half to death. After that I couldn't get back to sleep and decided to read a book. After a few minutes of reading a porcelain knick knack flew off of my dresser and broke on the wall on the other side of the room, and then I heard a voice that sounded just like my dad say "Hey Hey Hey" and it seemed to come from that room behind the closet. I was so scared I ran out of the house and spent the rest of the weekend staying at a friends house. It was terrifying.

My daughter, age 12, says that her radio comes on by itself at night.  This has just started since my Momma died.  But I also know that there has always been reported "parnormal" activity around young girls getting ready to hit puberty.  So I am really torn on what to think.  She isn't really scared of it, just more amused.  As long as it doesn't bother her, why should it me!!!

Ooooooooo, one of my favorite subjects!!!

Okay, I was reading a John Edwards book. My best friend was staying with me while my husband and kids went on a mini vacation. I am disabled and couldn't go then. My friend was sitting on my back porch.
I just finished the book. The exact second I closed the book, the power went out. It startled me, but the power went out at that house a couple times a month. It would just turn off for a couple seconds and come right back on. I found it odd that it happend the exact second I closed my book. I walking outside to tell my friend what happened. We laughed about it and went back inside a few minutes later. As we went inside, my cell phone's alarm was going off. I picked it up and it said it had two messages. I must have turned white or something, b/c my friend asked me what was wrong. I told her that I only use this cell phone for the alarm to get up in the morning and it had not had service for almost a year. She said that the messages were probably just old ones left on it.
But, the alarm was going off and it said '2 new messages' on the screen.
I tried to call my voice mail, but it said something about not number was set up. I tried calling my old number from my home phone, but it said the number was out of service. My friend grabbed the old cell phone, opened up the backdoor and threw it across the yard.

When I was a girl my family was really chummy with our Priest and his family. Once they had my Aunt and I sit for their kids.

The house was quiet, the kids sleeping and my Aunt and I sat in the living room. We bagan to feel weighted down and some kind of man in many hats appeared. He laughed, changed hats, then vanished as fast as he came.

The year was 1973, answering machines were not really popular. And our church did not have one.

My Grandmother called us to see if we wanted pizza (she was just a few dorrs away), but we did not hear the phone, we were watching the hat man... Grandma did get an answer on the phone. It was a mans voice but not the priest, and it said Father Burton was not home...

Grandma and Grandpa decided to come over and check things out, and ran right over. They got to us, but it seemed everything was over. We were all kinda scared and they stayed with us until the Priest and his wife got home.

When they returned they told uss this kind of thing happened all the time.

They said pillows would float sometimes. Candles would blow out... Just all kinds of stuff.

They tried to cleanse the church and church house, but wound up asking to be transfered to another parish.

The next Priest had the same trouble.

Now there is yet another new Priest, I am interested in seeing what will happen next.

My Aunt and the priests were recently contacted by someone involved in Chicago Ghost Stories, but I don't know if they were ever interviewed.

This is my only ghost story. It is true. (I don't see things, not on drugs, not drunk, never been abducted, and I do believe Elvis is dead...So please don't think I am some wacko...

Another Grandmother story ~ she was one of several kids and all of the girls slept in the same room.  Anyway, back then they used to "Lay out the dead" in the families home.  One of her uncles died and was laid out in there living room ~ that gives me goosebumps by itself!  But her and her older sister were awakened the first night by the dead uncle standing in their doorway!!!  She said she was really scared over that one.

My friend and I were using a Ouija board, we had candles lit, and it was a nice evening on my front stairs.  A wind came up and blew the candles out; we were communicating with something because the piece was moving without us touching it.

We asked questions while another friend took notes.  One of the friends decided it was really late and went home to bed (right across the parking lot).  About half an hour later she came screaming out of her house.  Said there was an invisible man in her bedroom.  She could feel him touch her.

Did the Ouija the next night.  Had candles lit again.  I was smart because I had my amulet of protection.  Candles went out again this night.  Contacted something again.  When we were done we all went to our homes.

When I went to bed I had the amulet tied around my ankle on a piece of leather.  The amulet started burning my ankle.  So I thought that was strange and stuffed it in my bra.  Still burned.  Started getting scared.  Holding it in my hand and I feel a pressure like someone just sat on my lower legs.

Nothing happened after that on that particular night.  However I did quit doing the Ouija board.  We studied literature about the board and other phenomenon before we tried using it.  We went into it with an open mind, but we didn't expect this.

This one is told by my fh.

We were house hunting and we stopped to look at one that Kris thought had "character".  I thought it looked like it needed some dynamite and then a paint job. :D

She was walking around outside the house with realtor and I was upstairs with our youngest (he seems to be more naturally in tuned to this stuff than me) son.  We were looking at a particularly medieval looking bedroom (I was thinking I was going to find an iron maiden in there somewhere) when he asked me why there was a little girl in the closet.

I looked, couldn't see anything, and was more than ready to boogy when Kris, the realtor and our oldest boy came up the stairs. Kris asked us who screamed.

The youngest said he heard something too, but thought it was Kris or the realtor.  Now, I'm not one of those knuckle heads on the movies who hears the voice say Get out!! and then goes, "Gee honey, this seems like a swell house."  Nope, I'm more like "Good idea Mr. disembodied voice, in fact I'm moving out now."

It scared me.  I never went back, and never plan too.  In fact, I don't think they've sold that house for almost two years.  They finally tore it down.

Thanks for sharing those with us Kris.  The first one scares me because I am scared to death of an Ouija Board!  You can really open up some bad stuff with one of those!

The second one was really different.  When your kids see a girl in the closet, and hear voices, that is a good hint to get the heck out of there!!!!

I agree with you ping, Ouija boards are dangerous. I am into all things metaphysical, but NOT the Ouija.
