They asked Susan Lucci (is that her name) to take a HUGE paycut. All of the soaps are in serious trouble and more are going to cancel by the fall. They are looking for things to put in the place which is actually the real issue right now.

Soaps are where many actors get their starts. James Earl Jones...bunches of actors and actresses started out on soaps. Is everything going to be reality TV now?

Soaps are still on?   laughing   sorry.. I couldn't resist. I have never watched a daytime soap in my life.

I dont want all reality shows either. eh, I guess it wouldnt matter to me. When the kids leave for school the tv goes off and stays off until they get home.. nothing but garbage on anyway.  laughing   But, I can see how followers of soaps would be disappointed. dont the stories go on for years and years?  Thats a lot of time invested in a show.

I heard. I watch GL sometimes but not that often anymore. It has been going downhill for some time now. Now Y&R is still going strong. I have been watching that one since I was 15. Great soap.

Guiding Light has been on for 72 years. My Granny started out listening to it on the radio, then watched it till her death in 1983. She put off having a blood transfusion one time so as not to miss an episode of her favorite soaps (the one where she put off going to the hospital was As The World Turns)

I really hope not!  I will throw my TV into the dumpster if that happens... I would rather get my teeth drilled than watch most of the junk on TV as it is.
