Congrats on the great win. You will have a great time. We went on a trip that we won to Tahiti and were on Moorea and had a great time. Just be prepared for some really, I mean really, expensive breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. Moorea was expensive, but they tell me that Bora Bora was even more expensive. Breakfast was about $50.00 each morning, fortnuately our trip included breakfast. We went for pizza/italian in town and still close to $100. There was a french restuarant that you could feed the stingrays and that was the best food for the money that we had. Also, bring bug spray or you will be eaten alive off the hotel property at night. I did see alot of people keeping food in thier rooms for breakfast and lunch and drinks and we were at a very high end hotel. But just wanted you to be prepared for the prices it was a absolutely fabulous time and I do not regret going because we had such a great time. One lady told me she packed a whole suitcase of food with ice packs etc. because she had researched on the internet the prices. She came out everyday to the pool with a plate full of food for her and her husband and their own bottle of wine. The bartender did chase them out of the bar one night because they had their own bottle of wine so they drank it by the pool. One of the locals told me that one place is not cheaper than another because the government regulates the prices that they can sell at. This was a year ago so maybe with the economy they have changed. Also, I am told that Bora Bora is the place to buy your Black pearls if you are planning on buying. Research the quality/grades before you go shopping there are alot of variables. I say this because evidently this is the place to buy black pearls. We did'nt buy any, but I saw a lot of people that did. The airline we flew on was Air Tahiti and they are the best airline I have ever flown on. Have a great time it is ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!!!

Thank you so much for the insider information. I figured it was going to be pretty expensive because of the exchange on the Euro, but I didn't realize how much. We will be packing some snacks and stuff for sure. By the way the accomodations are unreal. Read all about it here: http://hotjobs.promotions.yahoo.com/tahiti/about.html

Glad it was helpful. I was just so excited to go that i did'nt even check much out but the place we stayed. We did get a hut on the ocean and that is the absolute coolest thing ever. Part of the floor is glass and you see the coral reef below with fish swimming. At night you can turn on the lights and it lights up the coral below to see fish. Feeding them bread while snorkeling was so cool, they would just swim right in front of you and follow you around. You have your own little deck to sun in privacy and then just jump in the ocean and shower off outside. The place you are staying at in Moorea I did see when we went on the shark/stingray tour, which was really great, it seemed to be pretty big and with families. The place we stayed was the Moorea Pearl. Here is the link. I think the first night in Tahiti we were at the same hotel you are staying, but we only stayed the night and transfer to Moorea. The sand is black, the first time I have ever seen black sand. All I can say is enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. Oh, we went in April and the sun only came out full a couple of time, but I think that is best because when it did come out OH MY GOSH strong rays and humid. It was sunny, but a little cloud cover and the locals said it is best that way. http://www.pearlresorts.com/moorea/

The fedex truck had an envelope for me that contained the affidavit for the Dinner411 sweepstakes that I entered everyday for about 3 months, and it was for a trip for 2 to New York, hotel / airline and $1,000.00 for meals. But the best part was the next sentence... "The prize is no longer available, and as stated in the official rules, we are allowed to substitute the actual cash value of $6,671 which wil be issued in the form of a check! This was a GODSEND, since I desperately need a better form of transportation and to pay off some of my bills!!! Just wanted to share with you all.... You can win, if you just enter enough...
