The fedex truck had an envelope for me that contained the affidavit for the Dinner411 sweepstakes that I entered everyday for about 3 months, and it was for a trip for 2 to New York, hotel / airline and $1,000.00 for meals. But the best part was the next sentence... "The prize is no longer available, and as stated in the official rules, we are allowed to substitute the actual cash value of $6,671 which wil be issued in the form of a check! This was a GODSEND, since I desperately need a better form of transportation and to pay off some of my bills!!! Just wanted to share with you all.... You can win, if you just enter enough... Headed to the Emmy's this weekend!! My father won a trip back in May (his 2nd day of sweeping - he was skeptical at first
about sweeping but then won this!) Has was nice enough to transfer to me and a friend. Whoo hoo! My first sweeps trip!

UPS stopped at my house today and handed me an envelope. I entered the "Get It Done the BC Way" Sweepstakes, which ended 4/30/08. It seems that I have won the Grand Prize of $10,000! It is in the form of an American Express Gift Cheque. Now, I must hasten to the bank and get the affidavit notorized and sent back in the Next Day Air envelope I got in the envelope. Wow! My first big cash win...Now I must think long and hard about what I want to do with my winnings. I also need to find out how much the IRS is going to want. This has certainly brightened my Thursday.

Wow! Congrats, Sticks! I think the big wins get lost because they just get added in to this thread. I hardly notice them, but I would notice if they were just listed like regular wins with their own individual thread in the Winners' Circle. A bag of chips, a bag of candy, a movie ticket, etc. have their own thread. I think this one deserves its own thread, "Big win for inthesticks..." |
