Hi Folks, I was made aware that one member was worried about joining SA because of a rating on a web site called Web of Trust. I had never heard of them before but sure enough one commenter said that we were listed on Phishtank and "tanked" our reputation on this site. I don't think we were ever listed on Phishtank and we certainly are not listed now. SA has never offered spyware, adware, malware or any type of malicious download. SA does not have pop-ups and our newsletter is totally can spam act compliant with Aweber. If you have some time I would appreciate if you could go and rate our site so that we can boost our reputation on this site to reflect a better actuality. I'm referring to: http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/www.sweepsadvantage.comI was told the site was being avoided because of the Controversial rating, which leads me to believe this is a popularity contest, where people who dislike you/have an ax to grind can attempt to ruin your reputation!!! I don't want to get anything started between this site and another site, so feel free to delete this comment if you feel it should be.
I've noticed on another site, that they are now talking about the upgrades/PlusMembership here at SA. I think there are going to be a lot of people coming here to check it out, and as usual, you will have those that don't like it for the lamest of reasons.
I think there are going to be a lot of negative comments thrown around, just to be spiteful.
I never heard of Web of Trust, until yesterday, when I saw it mentioned over there. (Coincidence??)

Never heard of it before either. I personally don't waste my time with those kind of sites. Opinions are like arseholes ... everyone's got one ... But that doesn't mean I want to stick my nose in it!  |

Having had my reputation stained by people mindlessly believing lies about me, I completely understand the desire to correct the misperceptions - however, my livelihood was never threatened by those people mindlessly believing the lies!!!  I was just told about Web of Trust today, so I d/ld'ed the prog, saw the lie, then I commented on it - see above if you still aren't clear on why |

Many of these sites don't really identify correctly what site should be trusted or not. I contacted WOT and had them remove the one comment about phishing. ( This phishing comment was posted last feb 2009 and never validated by WOT ) Even with that comment gone and mostly good comments left I see that our rating went from poor to unsatifcatory??  Even siteadvisor isn't very accurate. I learned today that it takes 5 weeks for them to update their ratings. I know at one time they even considered Roboform to be spyware.. Its all kinda crazy but I just don't want any unrealistic data out there about SA when we have reliably stayed on the right side of the tracks since 1997. Thanks to everyone who is rating us or has.  |

Well, Wolfie-visor gives this site 4 paws up!  I placed my ratings and comments. I just don't understand people who post lies about someone/thing just to make themself or their site look better! It's like internet dating. Until you share meet in person, you can be anyone you want to be. |

Myself and hubby and even my mother-in-law all rated SA and SAplus, and they were all good ratings. Why don't the ratings go up after we give all excellent marks. It does not make much sense when we are all giving great marks, but still not showing a very good rating overall. Maybe when they update,, Sure did not take them long to update the negitive marks. |

To be honest, I think web of trust doesn't work right or is seriously behind in updating its web scores. I wouldn't be surprised if its behind as I know it takes siteadvisor 5 weeks to make any updates. |

I do have WOT on my computer, and most of the time it just gives me warnings on site that generate a lot of spam, or may lead to porn sites. It does not like most of the sites that SA has for sponsors of SA contests. However when I first installed it over a year ago, I left a comment about how SA was not the one generating spam, that people pick & choose which contests to enter , and some of those send spam. EX: Mike G. contests. I think some people who rate sites do not understand that. I left good feedback back then for SA, I will try it again.

Looking at the numbers they do not reflect the one little man on the site. Excellent 26 and all others total sumpin like mid range and that should make for more than 1 little man ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH somebody isn't minding the store.
