I got myself a new Hp computer a few weeks ago. Its Vista and I use IE7. Well my IE7 keeps freezing up on me several times a day and I have to use task manager to close it out. I noticed a majority of the time it freezes when I am on the yahoo home page and click on my mail box. But it does freeze other times too. Its very frustrating.

I really don't like internet explorer, you computer could be working completely fine and it IE will freeze sometimes.  I'd recommend switching browsers to firefox ... http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/personal.html

If you don't feel like doing that you could always try to upgrade to IE 8 and see if that plays a little bit more friendly with your computer.

I forgot the link for IE 8 upgrade.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/Internet-explorer/default.aspx
Is the computer locking up with anything else besides internet explorer ?

Also I found this in a post when searching for the problem on google, the add-ons could be locking it up.

A few things you could check.  First off, make sure you aren't loading a whole bunch off Add-ons into IE

Launch IE and go to Tools > Manage Add-ons

Disable anything that doesn't look right.

An alternative to that would be to start IE 7 in Safe Mode (ie no Add-ons get loaded)

Start > Programs Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)

If everything works find without the Add-ons you know it's one of them that is make a mess of ie.

Call HP, since its still under warrenty. Your freezes may be something that has nothing to do with IE7. I recently had to send my brand spanking new laptop back because the bluetooth failed. Miserable piece of...laptop Smile
They ship stuff with some many problems now. I understand that new Dell's just crawl out of the box and chew your leg off these days....
