:x I received an e-mail from "coca-cola" saying that I had won $85,000.  Even tho it had graphics that said coca-cola all over it, I figured it was a scam because the address at the end of the e-mail was from the UK and I think I have gotten e-mails with that same address saying I have won from other companies as well (such as American Express).  I sent an e-mail to the real coca-cola and confirmed that it was, indeed, a scam.  This is what they had to say: :x

"Thank you for contacting us regarding your recent observation.  We sincerely appreciate your taking the time to email us.

The Coca-Cola Company is in no way associated with this email or program.  We are not a sponsor and our name is used here without permission.  We are currently investigating the situation.

This appears to be a form of fraud known as "Phishing" wherein perpetrators attempt to develop relationships with victims in order to obtain personal and financial information.  Do not reply with any information.  Typically, these scam operations begin with an unsolicited
communication (usually by e-mail) from an unknown individual who describes a situation that promises quick financial gain.  The best way to avoid becoming a victim of advance-fee fraud is common sense - if it looks too good to be true, it probably is."

This is just to say be careful before responding to a "win"

someone posted this and I verified, send to uce@ftc.gov  any suspicious email.

stands for unsolicited commercial email @ Federal Trade Commission

if enough of us send forward these maybe someday they will all go away.

I have sent 5 this week alone.  the worst one was from Wells Fargo (not) wanting me to update my account info, they sent me 3, the last threatening to close my account.  LOL I don't have a Wells Fargo account and never have had.
