I would simply add here that anyone willing to sell their gift cards for 30% of their value should first check various Internet sites that buy and sell gift cards, such as https://www.plasticjungle.com/main.

You can make WAY more than 30% on almost any card they are currently buying - but if that site or the others out there aren't buying your particular gift card, 30% doesn't sound bad.
