This is what I saw:

I wasnt sure where to put this. If you have a 1st gen ipod nano..even if it's not working and it's stuffed in a drawer.. laughing  apple is replacing them free of charge because of a battery defect... http://www.apple.com/support/ipodnano_replacement/
Identifying an iPod nano (1st gen):

It has a black or white plastic front and a silver metal back

go here to check if yours is a 1st gen nano.. https://supportform.apple.com/201110/

If yours qualifies they will send you a prepaid box to return the old ipod to them. For replacements they are sending 6th generation 8 GB ipod nanos. They also come with a 90 day warranty. Not bad at all considering my ipod was 4 or 5 years old and only a 2 GB. My replacement has shipped and I should it have it in a day or two.I hope some people here are able to take advantage of this.
