Is it OK to do a member's only contest to encourage people to vote for one of my things? I would love to reward people for taking the time to vote, but don't know if it's OK to do that per the rules.

not really it would have to be something that would not involve benefiting you directly. the member only contest were designed for members to give away things to the members like ordinary sweeps do. And have no referral involvement.

What Lee is trying to say is no, it is not ok to post an MOC solely to gain votes for yourself. You can, however, post an MOC to encourage voting for all vote requests listed on SA.
