Remember when Chrispin Glover was on there and nearly kicked Dave in the face?

I keep thinking that Phoenix is doing some Borat-like comedy act. He's a good enough actor to pull of the "I've gone completely crazy" thing.

If Phoenix is having a laugh at our expense, the Letterman show is the place to do it. The actor might almost be channelling the spirit of Back to the Future star Crispin Glover, who famously tried to kick the talkshow host in the head while sporting four-inch platforms and a natty wig during a gloriously unhinged performance in the late 80s.

I think glover is crazy. He always plays the same creepy kinda guy in all his movies. Like whats his name from the fly?. jeff goldblum! he always plays the same kind of guy.. He plays himself. I think Glover just plays him self also.

I dont get why phoenix would feel the need to do something like this though. He has a pretty good movie career. why derail it. its bizarre.

Glover should make an excellent Knave of Hearts in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland-right kind of crazy

If this is Phoenix's latest movie project-well, the production costs are low (run around acting nute, get filmed doing it) so he should make money on it even with a limited "art house" release. It will be interesting to see how it turns out!
