I got a job interview for a job that I am incredibly interested in. It isn't until January but I'm extremely excited!!! I just graduated from college last winter and am currently serving a year in AmeriCorps*VISTA. My year of service ends on February 8th so hopefully I'll be starting my new job on February 11th!

UPDATE: The position is at a community college where my boyfriend's brother teaches. I hadn't told him I applied for the job because I wanted to make sure I had an interview first. He found out before I could tell him because he's on my interview committee. He said I made it past 50 other people and the interview pool is very small. Plus The job is closer to full time then I thought so I may get benefits! I wanted this job so badly, and I knew it would turn into a full time position eventually so I was going to just take it and get another job so I could afford health insurance. My mom's friend had a daughter who went without health insurance for a week while she was in between jobs and she had to have an appendectomy. She racked up thousands in bills so that makes me scared to go without it.

Anyways the interview is still like 3 weeks away but it's constantly on my mind. I'd do just about anything to get this job!

Unfortunatly I didn't get the job. My nerves got the best of me in the interview because I wanted it so badly. I'm disapointed but I'm sure something else will turn up....so I hope....

sunny Unfortunately, you didn't get the job, but you did get more experience with the interview process. When I was job hunting, I use to go to places where I didn't really want to work to get practice at interviews. You learn to remain calm and poised when you don't really care if you are getting the job.

I finally got a job and I start on Monday!!!! After 6 weeks of being unemployed it's going to feel really good to get back to work. It will be especially nice financially because after spending a year as a full time volunteer (forbidden by the government from having another job...i had to sign something) my bank account is very thin!

I am very excited but I don't want to post the details about the job or anything for personal reasons.

I'm going to miss having all day to do my sweeps. I'll probably need to cut back significantly on the number I enter. After 6 weeks of entering fairly solidly I am expecting it to pay off soon!
