He tried to up the fear quotient in the room by raising the prospect of an Iranian-sent nuclear attack on an American city. “It’s [a] tiny [threat] compared to the Soviet Union,” Bolton said, “but is the loss of one American city — pick one at random: Chicago — is that a tiny threat?” The audience erupted in cheers and laughter at the idea of Obama’s home city being obliterated. It has nothing to do with obama. It has to do with them laughing and applauding a US city being destroyed by a nuke. As soon as he said it they were clapping, yelling and whistling. spin it anyway you want too. thats what happened and shame on them. Although Boltons joke is rather obviously harsh and politically incorrect, it’s still pretty darn funny. What’s more, Boltons joke is right on target in so far that virtually everybody agrees that Chicago has proved itself to be one corrupt city where illegal and unethical behavior are par for the course. yeah, thats some funny stuff. and they can spin it anyway they want to too. They laughed and applaud after he said chicago and were so loud he couldn't finish speaking. |

I watched the clip--no big deal. Everyone, at some time or another, is the object of someone's joke. It's called humor. It's what makes the difference whether or not people fall asleep within the first five minutes of the speech or the first ten.

I wonder if y'all would think it was funny if a democrat said something like that. I kinda doubt it. I wonder if a politician were to make a joke about 911 would that be funny? yes nuking American cities and killing thousands of people is soooo funny.. |

Big difference. Chicago was never nuked--the joke isn't based on actual events. If you take offense by that, you should be taking offense to all the nuking and blowing up of American cities in the movies. |

Liberals also don't allow those who differ with them to talk. Everytime a conservative tries to say something, the liberals start talking over them very loudly or they just start laughing loudly so that the conservative can't be heard or get a word in edge-wise. They did a spoof of that on SNL of that guy on one of those news channels. In the skit, everytime the conservative just opened his mouth he would yell "WRONG"! |
