Well what a day. I went to an AT&T store today to try and use my $200 gc I won, and found out there is no AT&T service in my area for cell phone and their cell phones wont work for my cell company. They only sell phones and blackberries that are phones and camera phones, but none will work for my area. so I gave them to my son, as he has att for his cell phone. Then I came home and found a letter from United Airlines, that my 50,000 miles I won has been credited to my account, so I thought great I will see what I can do with these. their site says you can get merchanidise if you have over 25,000 miles, but I didnt read the small print, only certain miles count, of corse not the ones I won, and it cost 50,000 miles for 1 person to go anywhere in the US, if I understand how they charge. So now I dont think I can do anything with the miles either. They say you can buy dining cert. but no resturants in my area, I must live in a bad area for getting stuff. lol. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do with the miles? We cant afford to buy another ticket just to fly somewhere for the fun of it. I dont understand how it takes a50,000 to go anywhere in US. they say the value of miles is $1000, does it cost that much to fly anywhere? I have never flown in my life so I dont know much about how it works. Dont misunderstand I am so thankful to win and think it is so wondeful of United to give the prize, and AT&T too. Just want some way to use them. Any ideas would be appreciatted. Kind of a bad day , both my first bigger prizes not turning out to well.
