Hey there. I have two wonderful kittens but I'm horrible at creating decent pet names (I tend to go with the classics). My mom named my mama cat (Sassie (Sassafras)). If you'd like to enter just send me an email to jaxwinner at gmail dot com with Name My Kittens in the subject line and the name you picked in the body. I will try to post pictures of them this week. One is black wit hints of white on his legs and a white spot on his throat. The other is a classic grey/cream striped with a yellowish belly. The winner of this contest will get 5 random books from my collection (generally romance, sci-fi, and western). One entry per email. Expires July 18, 2009. http://s19.photobucket.com/albums/b186/jaxwinner/?action=view¤t=DCFC0022.flv Not the best video. I'll have to do better.

The black one, both are male. This one is long and lanky. He is going to be a very large boy if he grows into his legs.

Just sent you a bunch. Sorry... they got a bit silly at the end. Blame it on an overdose of coffee & a lack of sleep. I have had lots of cats, I just love them. Seems no matter what I name them though they always all answer to "kitty, kitty, kitty".

I came home from work a few minutes ago and let my Rat Terrior out to run around. I left the door open so the two kittens could come out also while I took care of trash and brought in groceries and let the dog run around a bit.
I was standing by my truck in the driveway and I saw both kittens come out. The black one first came out and went under the porch and then the second came out. The black one came out from under the porch and the grey one launched from the top of the stairs (about 3 feet) down onto the black one. He jumped funny and ran a couple of steps and hunched down.
I didn't think much of it but when I got closer to go in the house I noticed that the black one was blinking his eyes a lot. I also noticed that he didn't run away from my feet like he usually does. I watched him a bit longer and he was just sitting there blinking his eyes. I picked him up at first thinking that a snake might have bit him. Nope. When I held him to my chest I could hear bones grinding together when he moved from one side to the other. Something broke inside him when his brother tackled him.
I sat him down and he wobbled off a few steps and hunkered down with his eyes still blinking. I made sure to get him in the house but there isn't anything I can do for him. I don't have money to treat him, don't have the gas to get 20 miles to a vet, and couldn't afford a vet bill. I can't even afford my own medical care.
I don't want to handle him too much to make his pain worse. I have some pain medicine but don't know if it would work on cats nor the correct dosage.

Hi, not sure where you live, but in most all areas there is a animal shelter or animal control. If you call them and tell them they will come and get the kitten and either fix it or put it down if it can not be fixed. I am very very sorry he got hurt and know it hurts you. But unfortunately you have to think about helping him and you are not able to at this time. I know it is very very hard to give up a pet, but leaving him hurting is bad to. I will pray for you and your kitty. Hope you can make a good decision for you both.

DO NOT< absolutely, positively, never, ever ever give a cat medication unless specifically approved by a vet. EVER.
Hope he is ok, i've had cats survive alot worse than a broken bone. Good luck to your kitty, & i will pray for him.

Well it laid around for a couple of hours shaking with it's eyes blinking 90 to nothing. Then I saw it begin to hobble around and even start eating. Another hour it was playing like normal chasing a big bug around the floor but it's movement was off.
This morning it seemed it's normal standoffish happy playful self. I don't see any guarded movement and it's chasing it's brother and doing all things kitten.

im so glad to hear hes doing better. my daughter has a kitten and her dog (pitbull) snappedand bit the whole kitten around its body, injuring his spine, which gave him some nerve issues...the kitten is doing much better-we thought he was a goner (kitten tried to eat out of the dog bowl while the dog was eating) but time and keeping his movements limited really helped and now hes like at 95% "normal" he seems to have balance issues at times. so keeping your kitten confined could help with recovery and or reinjuring himself until he heals.

Glad to hear the kitty is doing better. I have a 22 pound cat and a 55 pound pup and the cat holds his own against the dog. My dog loves to nibble on the back of Kitty Meow Meows neck and ears, the cat loves it. It is a very funny sight. My cat is declawed (was that way when we got him) and it is so funny to see him swipe at the dog. I emailed you names a while back, great contest!!

The name of my little bundles of joy is: The black one with the white patch on his throat is named ~ Smoke. The grey one with the cream and black stripes is named ~ Dale Jr. Someone went with the NASCAR theme. I used www.random.org to pick a number from the list of emails I received. The winner has been notified and will receive the books shown in the earlier post. Thanks for the participation.
