I posted on the 5th about my new grandson, but it was during the time that didn't show up in this new forum. Dayton came a couple weeks early, but seemed ok.  My son just called to say he is having some problems. He hasn't had a bowel movement and they have inserted a tube into his tummy. They have done some Xrays and suspect some sort of blockage. They are waiting for another doc to come out of surgery for a 2nd opinion. I keep praying that the little guy will be ok. They are talking about doing some surgery on him. My son is suppose to call again as soon as they know something.
Would appreciate all your prayers right now for the little Dayton. Thank you all.

Will keep you all in my prayers.  Those little fellows are way tougher than we like to think so I just know everything will be fine.

Pam, I am so sorry your grandson is having a difficult time.  I will keep him and your family in my prayers.  I hope this turns out to be minor and that the whole family is home together soon.

Thank you all so much. My son just called again. They are in the process of transporting Dayton from the local hospital to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. They have a some kind of special ambulance setup for newborns to transport, so that is good. Looks like it is going to be a long night.
I told my son that I have you all praying for them and he said to thank you all very much. It is much appreciated.

I'll say a prayer too. I hate it when little kids are sick.

Everything will be alright ~ you just hang in there and try not to worry.

Thoughts, prayers and good wishes for you, your family and your grandson. Hopefully everything will turn out well, as there are many loving experts in the field of neonatal care, and lots of support and silent prayers from SA.

:sunny:Thank you all so much. You guys are the greatest.  You're prayers are working. He is doing alot better now that he is in Kalamazoo. My son says that he is getting excellent care and feels relieved. They said they are going to keep him for 7 to 10 days just to keep a close eye on him. He is having bowel movements on his own now, so that is a very good sign.
My son tells me that he is the most beautiful baby he has ever seen.  So of course, I had to tell him that I knew he had to be as all my grandbabies are beautiful as they take after their grandma!

I'm so glad to hear the good news.  I've been keeping a very close eye on this thread so I can keep up with the new baby.  Those little boogers will scare you won't they.  Maybe he just needed a little while to get with the program of being in this mean old world.  He will stay in our thoughts and prayers as will the whole family sunny

Sounds like things are going better.  You should write all this down and remind him of how badly he scared you after he was born!!  You can make him feel guilty from now on laughing ~ that is ALWAYS fun!  I remind my kids of everything they have ever done when they act up ~ boy, do they love me!!

I don't have to write it down. I remember the births of my grandkids and son vividly. They are the most memorable days of my life. As far as using it against them, I am happy to report my grandkids have never been anything but loving and kind. I am constantly reminding them of my favorite motto: "It's nice to be important, but it's important to be nice". I make them repeat it to me constantly as a reminder as a way to live their lives.

Okay, now I know that you are going to have to be my new babysitter laughing  I don't care that I am going to have to drive a long way into the beautiful hills, I will do it and you can teach my youngest that important lesson.

I think someone has been spoon feeding the girl sugar...or chocolate!!!  She is being such a little bugger the last few days ~ enough to make me want to run and hide nono
