 Waving

Hi there..  My name is Laurie.  I am pretty new to doing Sweeps.  Ive been doing this for about 6 weeks now. I believe I spend about 4-7 hours per day entering contests.

I hit up prolly 85% of the dailies listed here and instants and one entries as well.

So far, I have won the following.

$10 --cant remember the name offhand
Marlboro Ashtray
30-day Zagat online Subscription
Marlboro Bottle Opener
$25 Gift card from Pedigree
Rascall Flats Download from Hershey

I guess I am wondering if there are any tips for me to do since I am pretty new.
Should I be consistant do you feel there will be a big win at some point? I should rephrase and say... a mid range win lol  not big.

Thanks for the help Smile

Waving Congrats Laurie on your start to winning sweepstakes. Keep entering and the wins will keep coming. As for tips here goes.

You say you spend 6 or 7 hours a day doing sweeps. This will become hard to keep up as time goes by without burning. Your goal will become to enter as many sweeps but spend less time doing them.

Use Roboform to make filling out forms faster. Take advantage of the great tool here like My sweeps so more of your time is spent entering not going down a long list of sweeps finding the ones you want to enter.

Check the New sweepstakes on Sa every day and add the ones you like.

Make sure the sweeps are ones you would want to enter. Example a sweep has 1 prize like a lawnmower if you lived in an apartment why would you enter? Say the same  sweep had smaller prizes like a DVD player and maybe a box of cleaners. This would be a better sweeps to spend time on.

Look for sweeps everwhere at local store, newspapers on the radio. Limited sweeps give you better odds.

I strongly believe in keeping records of your wins to keep you going during the dry spells.
There will be times when you believe you will never win again but hang in there you will.

Looking forward to the day you post in the Hall Of Fame thread.

Just keep on keeping on.  I try to be very consistent about entering.  I do try and take Sundays off each week just to give myself a break and keep from getting burned out.

Seems the wins are a little slow right now for everyone (although looking at the winner's circle doesn't make it seem that way).  You (and I) eventually will win something great.  Congrats on what you've won so far!   cheers

Hello Laurie,

My advice for you is to focus on your local contests. TV Stations, Radio Stations, Newspapers, Supermarkets.

Make THEM your #1 Priority. Spending one hour on local contests will give you better odds than 7 hours of national contests. For example, auto dealerships in my area are currently having many prize giveaways in order to lure in customers.

My recent local wins:

Hellboy 2 DVD - Newspaper
4 Movie Passes - Newspaper
$25 Carls Jr. GC - TV Station
The Tale of Despereaux DVD - Newspaper
$100 Check - Radio
4 Theme park Tix - Radio
4 Festival Tickets - Radio

You may also with to use a waterproof pen (Mom always uses Sharpie Ultrafine points) because inevitably a drink can will be tossed in the box at some point during the promotion and get the entries damp.

If I'm at a place that has a lot of drop-in boxes (like our local fair), I take return address labels and then just add the phone number.  This saves a lot of time.  Good luck on your sweeping!  headbang
