We have been very liberal in allowing political discussions to continue here on SA.  However, the recent tone in many recent threads have left a question in my mind about the appropriateness of these threads. 

This is a news forum.  This is not a political forum.  There are many sites out there for political discussion.  From what I have read here, it seems that some of you should join sites with similar views as your own as you are not open to opposing viewpoints.

Let's face it, many of the articles quoted here have been slanted, and from less than reputable sources.  Many of the articles are quoted and then members give their slanted, misinformed views of the truth thereby giving wrong information to our members. 

The attitude in this forum has become so obnoxious that we are receiving several complaints about it and in fact driving members away.  This is not acceptable.

In the future, any post or thread that is inaccurate, rude, insulting or attacking will be removed immediately.   

It is my personal preference that you go back to discussing news and not politics.  The election is over.  There is nothing any of us can do about it for a few years.  STOP BEATING A DEAD HORSE!

 
I apologize if I offended anybody with my comments about "The Birthers." I tried to give what the U.S. Constitution says about continuity of government, and what the Hawaiian government said about birth certificates.

I don't think I was rude or calling names in any way, but I'll keep my comments to myself from now on. I'm very sorry.

You weren't the one calling names.  Another member decided to go into thread after thread this afternoon and take care of that.

Posting facts to add to the OP isn't the problem - it's posting your opinion as fact and brooking no discussion/opposing viewpoints that is.

As GSW notes, if you {anyone} wishes to discuss politics, there are sites where you can go to meet with those like-minded.
