I've been entering contests it seems like forever and I have never received anything.  I enter everyday.  I'm a redheaded Irish, but believe you me, I have never had any good luck when it comes to contests and giveaways.  I HAVE wonderful kids though, so guess I AM lucky after all.  Thanks for letting me vent.

How many sweeps are you entering a day?  I only enter for things I really want, so I don't win a lot, but when I do when, I win great prizes.

It took me 4 months before my first win and another 3 before my second.  Last year, I went through a huge dry spell.  This year has been a little better so far.

Sweeping is a game of patience.  Be happy for those that win and know that the odds are in your favor that you too will win.

I hope your first is right around the corner.   sunny

Well, a LOT of people have noticed how slow April was.  Just keep on keeping on and hopefully one day soon you'll get something really cool.  BTW - griping usually does the trick  laughing

sunny Venting almost always helps. All you can do is try to stay positive, be persistant and consistant and you will win. Blowing some good luck wishes your way!  3some

Oh no globe1trotter - do NOT believe you CAN'T win!!!  nono You HAVE to believe you CAN win for it to work!!!  laughing

Seriously, Sweeping is a hobby that is all about timing. Especially for those elusive instants! IF you enter at the exact right moment, you will win. If not? Sad to say you won't. But I assure you - it's nothing personal, and those who win a lot don't have any "secrets" - they are just consistent, persistent, and patient.

The sweepers credo? Enter and forget it. Always be happy for those that win - even when they win "your" prize   laughing - and be positive you will win.

Reminding myself of the sweepers credo is how I keep my positive attitude, and my sanity.

I really believe that if you go into it thinking you can't win, well, you'll MAKE yourself right so often you'll start believing it!!! I truly do believe you have to have a positive attitude - don't get hung up on what others are doing - just focus on entering, then move on to something else - like posting so we can get to know you!!!

Hang in there - and enter, enter, enter - you'll be posting a win before you know it!!! And remember - every day brings new opportunities to win!!!  headbang

Plus, as already mentioned, whining does help  crazy tongue

That is why you find so many whine threads...it is almost like it loses something if you post it in someone elses thread laughing

Okay, out of the 200 plus sweeps I enter a day, I finally won a car!!!!!

Dodge Journey of a Lifetime Sweepstakes.  It's going to cost me a fortune though to claim it.  GA is a killer on taxes, plus whatever I'm going to owe the Federal gov.  So I'll end up paying about 13,000 for a 31,000 car.  Not bad I guess.  Thanks to all who read my vent.

If you don't really want the car and just want the cash, you can sell it back to the dealership.  There was another option that had a better payout for selling the car, but I can't remember what it was.  Maybe, someone else would remember what it was.  I remember someone posting it somewhere.  Congrats!

WOWSA globe1trotter , talk about a GREAT return on a whine!!!  laughing

CONGRATS!!! headbang cheers headbang

I used to avoid sweeps for cars because of taxes/hassle, but as LDS points out, you can sell it back to the dealer, get an adjusted 1099 and pay taxes on that - I really don't recall the other option she mentions, but will be watching this thread in the hopes that someone else does & will post it!!!

From this one, right?  scratch

Yes, it was the Gridiron Greatness part, guess there were 4 prizes.  Don't know if I'll get to take the trip though, NO one to watch my kids.  I went to give the local dealership my license today.  AND just got an email from SA that I have won the 22 pack DVD giveaway.  SWEET!!!!!!
