I checked it out-abbreviated rules say Canada only-link to full rules does not work. Oh well....if you can get a link to the rules that works, I'd be interested. Good Luck!

Here's the rules for all interested parties, thanks!  There is more, but it exceeds 20,000 characters...by far!

NISSAN INNOVATION CHALLENGE (“CONTEST”)

THIS CONTEST IS OPEN TO CANADIAN RESIDENTS ONLY (EXCLUDING RESIDENTS OF THE PROVINCE OF QUEBEC) AND IS GOVERNED BY CANADIAN LAW

The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook. You understand that you are providing your information to the Sponsor and not to Facebook. The information you provide will only be used for the administration of this Contest and in accordance with the Sponsor’s privacy policy (see below). Facebook is completely released of all liability by each entrant in this Contest. Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Contest must be directed to the Sponsor and not Facebook.

No purchase necessary. The Contest is sponsored by Nissan Canada Inc. (the “Sponsor”). The Contest begins at 3:00 PM ET on Nov 13/11 and ends 11:59:59 PM ET on Jan 20/12 (the “Contest Period”). By entering and/or otherwise participating in this Contest, you agree to abide by and be legally bound by these Official Rules and Regulations (the “Rules”). The decisions of the Sponsor with respect to all aspects of the Contest are final and binding without right of appeal.

1. ELIGIBILITY TO ENTER:

Contest entry is open to all legal residents of Canada (excluding residents of the Province of Quebec) who have reached the age of majority in their province/territory of residence at the time of entry, except employees, representatives or agents (and those with whom such persons are domiciled, whether related or not) of the Sponsor, its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, prize suppliers, dealers, advertising/promotion agencies and the Contest Judges (collectively, the “Contest Parties”).

2. ELIGIBILITY TO VOTE:

Voting (see Rule 9, Stage 2) is open to all legal residents of Canada (excluding residents of the Province of Quebec) who have reached the age of majority in their province/territory of residence at the time of entry, except employees, representatives or agents (and those with whom such persons are domiciled, whether related or not) of any of the Contest Parties. Any Votes (defined below) deemed to be received from either the Province of Quebec or outside of Canada or otherwise in contravention of these Rules, all as determined by Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion will be subject to disqualification.

3. SUBMISSION UPLOAD PERIOD:

The Submission Upload Period begins on November 13, 2011 at 3:00:00 PM ET and ends on December 5th, 2011 at 11:59:59 PM ET (the “Submission Upload Period”).

4. HOW TO ENTER A SUBMISSION:

To enter, go to www.nissan.ca/innovation (the “Website”), click the “like” icon and follow the on-screen instructions to accessthe Contest Application (the “Application”). Next, follow the on-screen instructions to obtain the official Contest entry form (the “Entry Form”). Fully complete the Entry Form, which requires you to: (i) enter your first name, last name, , valid email address, telephone number and postal code; (ii) indicate that you are over the age of majority in your province/territory of residence; (iii) choose a Category (either technology, environment, safety, design or lifestyle) from the drop down menu (the “Category/ies”); and (iv) accept and agree to be legally bound by the terms and conditions of these Rules. You will then be required to follow the on-screen instructions to write a story (the “Story”) in the space provided. Your Story must be in accordance with the specific Submission Requirements listed below in Rule 6 and must discuss what “Innovation” means to you in connection with the Category selected from the drop down box on the Entry Form (the “Theme”). When all required fields of the Entry Form are completed (including writing your Story in the space provided), click the “Submit” button to complete your entry (Entry Form and Story hereinafter collectively referred to as “Entry/Entries”).

5. ENTRY LIMIT:

There is a limit of one (1) Entry per person/email address, permitted during the Submission Upload Period and you can only use one (1) email address to enter, or otherwise participate in, the Contest. Your entry must be unique and original and in accordance with these Rules (all as determined by Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion). If it is discovered that any person has attempted to: (i) obtain more than one (1) Entry (as defined above) in the Contest; (ii) use (or attempt to use) multiple names, identities and/or more than one (1) email address to enter or otherwise participate in the Contest; and/or (iii) submit an Entry that is not unique and original (as determined by Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion); then (in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor) he/she may be disqualified from the Contest and his/her Entry is subject to disqualification by the Sponsor. Your Entry will be rejected if (in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor): (a) the Entry Form is not fully completed (including writing your Story in the space provided) and submitted during the Submission Upload Period; (b) the Story appears to copy or in anyway plagiarise another Entry; (c) the Story is not unique and original (as determined by Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion); and/or (d) the Story does not conform to the specific Submission Requirements listed below in Rule 6. Use (or attempted use) of multiple names, identities, email addresses and/or any automated, macro, script, robotic or other systems(s) or program(s) to enter or otherwise participate in or disrupt this Contest is prohibited and is grounds for disqualification by the Sponsor. The Releasees (defined below) are not responsible for late, lost, misdirected, delayed, incomplete or incompatible Entries. All Entries are subject to verification at any time. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to require proof of identity and/or eligibility (in a form acceptable to the Sponsor – including, without limitation, government issued photo identification) to participate in this Contest. Failure to provide such proof to the satisfaction of the Sponsor in a timely manner may result in disqualification. The sole determinant of the time for the purposes of a valid Entry in this Contest will be the Contest server machine(s).

6. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

BY SUBMITTING AN ENTRY (AND/OR A FINALIST VIDEO, IF APPLICABLE), YOU AGREE THAT THE ENTRY (AND/OR A SEMI-FINALIST VIDEO, IF APPLICABLE) AND EACH INDIVIDUAL COMPONENT THEREOF COMPLIES WITH ALL CONDITIONS STATED IN THESE RULES AND FACEBOOK’S TERMS OF SERVICE. THE RELEASEES (DEFINED BELOW) WILL BEAR NO LEGAL LIABILITY REGARDING THE USE OF YOUR ENTRY (AND/OR A SEMI-FINALIST VIDEO, IF APPLICABLE). THE RELEASEES (DEFINED BELOW) SHALL BE HELD HARMLESS BY YOU IN THE EVENT IT IS SUBSEQUENTLY DISCOVERED THAT YOU HAVE DEPARTED FROM OR NOT FULLY COMPLIED WITH ANY OF THESE RULES AND/OR FACEBOOK’S TERMS OF SERVICE.

Have you read this:

??? Have an ask ??? A note on voting etiquette
http://www.sweepstakesplus.com/smf/have-an-ask-a-note-on-voting-etiquette-t81069.0.html

Waving Easy how to:

1} Post your thread, noting the end date and how often we can vote: *12/28* daily

2} Go to the other threads in this forum, then vote for them - post you voted and any info you can: I voted,  3874, etc. You only need to post this once {for a 1x ask} or daily {for a daily ask}.

{With a lot of the voting contests, after you vote, it will tell you what the vote tally is, or say something like "vote recorded 04-14-2007, 2:53pm".  If you can, copy this line into your "I voted" post to verify that you really did vote.}

3} If you post a 1x ask, at *least* vote 1x for the other asks. If you post a daily, you will be expected to RTF for the other daily asks.

If everyone who posts an ask votes for their fellow SA vote askers, there will be no need to bump your own thread, since the others will bump when they vote! If you have a 1x ask, you are allowed to bump your thread 1x a day, to see if there is anyone who hasn't voted for you yet.

See? Easy!  laughing

lol Jenna - I saw your post before I saw all your replies to other thread  crazy tongue  whistle laughing

We've just had a lot {over time} who didn't think of the quid pro quo of voting so instead of posting in the various threads, I made that thread for them  sunny

No problem whatsoever!  Not voting for others, or not RTF is a GIANT problem you see everywhere.  Last night I tried voting in a new venue.  I cast 72 votes & mabye got 2 back!  It took up all of my evening to vote.  I saw entire threads with 25 votes for the OP...who never came back to RTF.  Multiply that by all the forums that they visit...they could be winning contests without helping out anyone else.

Amy, I have to admit I am not a fan of "vote for me" contests.  It is very time-consuming and difficult.  I only find myself in them if I did not properly read the rules, if it was not stated there would be voting, or they changed the rule mid-way...which has happened in quite a few of the contests that I have entered.

Amy, would you believe...I was in a non-voting contest, they changed the rules to a voting format.  I was displeased, but I painstakingly went after votes.  I had way more votes than anyone due to lots of work.  Then at the END of the contest, they changed back to their original format.  What a waste of time!

No worries about not being able to vote.  Must be nice & hot there!  We just got some snow & ice.

No problem - did you read the thread I sent you?

There are 3 basic no no's:
don't ask b4 your 2 weeks,
don't post unless you really did vote
don't post your ask anywhere but in this forum, preferably in your own thread, so the rest of us can keep track on if we voted or not  sunny
