No really, piss ants.  I don't know what else to call them.  That's all my grandmother ever called them and that's all my mother ever called them so I guess that's what they are.  How do you get rid of them?  They are just very tiny black ants that are coming in from my kitchen sink.  It's been so hot and dry here I suppose they are just trying to get a cool drink of water but so help me lord they are just driving me nuts.  Any suggestions?  The ant spray from Home Depot doesn't work and this sticky gooey stuff in a bottle that you set out around the countertop just gives them a good buzz. It almost seems like a cattle call when I lay out the poison!   So let me know if you have heard of any good remedies cussing

fearsgirl  - I'm not sure if this will work on these kinds of ants, and since it's the kitchen sink, it will get grody  nono laughing

Vaseline or Vicks.

They can't get through it/it suffocates them or something?

hth, ants stink!!!  cussing

Vicks Vapor Rub?  What a thought.  I love the smell of that stuff anyway so it can't hurt can it.  Thanks for the hint.  I'll let you guys know if it works.  They were really piled up this morning.  Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww

The proper term is "pisant".

I once heard, when I was having ants,  that they didn't like cucumber skins, so I bought a bunch, peeled the  & lined the peels up all along the kitchen floor.

Ants really DON'T like cucumber peels - they'll walk AROUND them!   headbang

I finally used the gooey -bottle-cap stuff - they drink it & take it back to the nest.

Hi my sister got them in Atlanta a year or so ago & they drove her mad too.  The bug guy told he the only thing he know that would work was windex.  It kills them & then you wipe the area with it & it kills there scent.  That's why you see a perfect trail curves and all - because they follow the scent left behind from the others.  This year I got UNLUCKY & they came to my house.  I was sick over it there were so many.  The windex did kill them but they did come back.  I have black counter granite countertops & it's har to see them but I could feel them -YUCK.  I finally sprayed around the plumbing under the sink with raid ant & roach killer & haven't seen them since - knock on wood!  Good luck, I feel your pain.  cry

I get them every year as well! I know this doesn't sound that logical...having the problem INSIDE...but what I do (and it works) is treat the out side! I buy (at walmart) a green bottle of poison that you attach to your hose and spray the yard.it says it lasts like up to 8 weeks and it does! (also keeps away spiders, crickets ect.) then they also sell a liquid "trap" that the ants are attracted to and eat and take back to its colony and kills them! This also was actually amazing to see how many ants were all over this after a couple of hour! you put it outside as well. i don't put any poison inside because I have small children! It does work!
