I am sitting here doing my finances... and I have gotten in a lot of credit debt the past years. I finally just broke down crying tonight. I have gone way over my head and I need to get a second job to pay my bills. Unfortunately, this isn't the time to be in debt. I have a wedding to pay for in August and I am using up all my savings for it. I need a miracle win that will help me get out of debt for good. Its the worst feeling in the whole world and I cry myself to sleep. Its no ones fault but mine, I don't even know how it accumulated to be so much. Little by little it just adds up and consumes your life. Please pray for me, I hope something will come in the mail or an email will come and take all my worries away.

Oh girl ~ I know how things can just snowball out of control in no time at all! Maybe something will come, but if not take the time and regroup!  Maybe there are somethings that just aren't necessary.  I know this is suppose to be the most special day of your life ~ but at what emotional cost?  I just don't want you getting in to far over your head and having to feel guilty.

I hope there are a lot of wins in your future that take off some of the pressure for you!  There are a lot of wedding freebies ~ I sent a list to Champ if she still has them maybe she will share, if not, I will try to find them again for you in a couple of days when my hubby goes back to work!

Just know I am praying for you that you will find the best avenue to take the pressure off of yourself so your day will be the best it can be!!  Good luck!

I am sorry you are so stressed out over your finances and it is so easy to get over our heads these days so don't beat yourself up over it.

The first thing that came to my mind when reading your post is that Jesus told us not to worry because worrying won't change a thing.

Just put your trust in God and believe in his promises and it will all work out. Read scriptures that will encourage you and not discourage.

God bless.

I will keep you in my prayers and hope your wedding is everything you always wanted it to be. I still remember mine and that was almost 21 years go (18 when I got married) and still smile about it. You  have my prayers and hope for the big one to come your way soon. sunny

Step one:::  Cut those cards.  Don't buy what you can't pay cash for.    Works for us.  Anyhow hope everything eventually works out for you. Smile

When I was first married umpteen years ago to my first husband, we got into credit card debt.  I went to a credit counseling service that and they helped us get out of debt.  They will call your creditors and get the credit card companies to stop charging the interest.  They help you make a budget, you pay them and they pay the bills.  They were wonderful, and I can't say enough about them.  It's free and they are a sanity saver.  Please look up a credit counseling agency.  I'll keep you in my prayers.

Thanks everyone... Last night I just couldn't hold it in any longer. Thank you for listening, I know there are far more people in worse conditions than mine, and there are a lot of people that have nothing. I just currently did a balance transfer and I filled out an application as a waitress for the restaurant across the street. I won a $500 dress last month that I am putting up for sale on ebay all the money that I make from my wins will go straight to a high yield saving account until I can accumulate enough money to pay big portions of it off. I am thinking it will take me at least 5 years to pay it completely off.

sunny Happy to hear that you are already taking steps to correct your problem. If you stay on top of it and quit charging, you will see that pile dwindle away. Just be sure to use this as a valuable lesson for your future. You still may want to check into the credit counseling.
I was fortunate enough to grow up with a father that stressed the importance of a good credit rating before I even knew what credit was.  We also learned alot about finances in my high school home ec class.  Like your housing expense (rent/mortgage) each week should never be more than 1 weeks pay per month.
Those lessons have always worked for me, although I may have struggled at times, my bills were always paid and I have always had an excellent credit score.

Good Luck, I know you can do it!

A little update!!! I got a second job babysitting for a family to make some extra money. Every Saturday I will watch their 2 kids (6 & 2) from 8:30AM - 7AM. Alll the money I make will go straight to my high yeild savings account to help pay off my debt. Instead of the 5 years I thought it was going to take, I think its roughly only going to take a year and a half. In January I will do a balance transfer and that will help with little or no interest. I am making my minimum payments, and plan on only using the AMEX card for emergencies and for work (because I get reimbursed every month).
Thanks to everyone to listened, I don't know why I got myself in this bad situation, it makes me never want to charge anything again.

It is SO easy to get into that situation for any of us!  Back about 8 years ago, our youngest got really sick and we almost lost her at one point.  We had medical bills out the  Booty not to mention bills, bills, and more bills!  There were times that I just didn't know what we were even going to eat.  Ashelyn had medicine that she HAD to have ~ we were just over the point in our income to where we didn't qualify for any help and we were in SO much trouble.  I can remember using credit cards to buy medicine and groceries and shampoo...nothing extra just the necessities!  It was the hardest time in our lifes because we still had the added stress of not really knowing what was wrong with Ashelyn.

I can remember at one point this man calling and asking me for a donation and me breaking down and just bawling on the phone!  Needless to say, he didn't get a donation and they haven't called back since laughing  I would have to call Dr. X and tell them that I was going to have to call Dr. Y this month ~ sorry.  Most were really understanding.  Some weren't!

Jimmie ended up having to quit that job and get one with better insurance and we had to take what little retirement that he had built up and pay our medical bills off...we didn't want to, but both of us knew that it would be the only chance that we would have to get rid of all that debt with out filing bankrupcy which was not an option for us.

All of that was just to let you know that I do understand somewhat what you are going through.  I hope you have found what you need to gather yourself up and get yourself out!  You will be so much happier if you can!!!  Good luck(now that I have bored you to sleep laughing)

Just a quick note to say I hope things are a little better for you, and you are in my prayers. I know it is really tough to make it all work, I personally have robbed peter to pay Paul so many times, Peter filed bankruptcy and told me no more. lol Hang in there and God Bless sunny
