Do you mean in the forum or the comments for each sweepstakes in the directory? Thank You I would like the option to turn of the email messages when there is a reply to a note. Plenty of times I receive an email about a note for a sweep I'm no longer entering or don't want to follow up on and it gets annoying. Turning the spigot on and off would be nice.
I mean the comments for the individual sweeps. I know there is an option to shut of the notifications, but sometimes I'm interested for only a short time and don't want to get notes for months.

Just click the "Un Watch" link for that individual comment. That should do it.

Dear GTB's*, I've noticed (to my anguish ) that there is no section for topics about the actual forum site here. So, I will post this here. (I guess that making that section would be my first suggestion! ) But my real idea is to have a link for "Show NEW Topics" put up in the upper left of our page right along with the "Show unread posts since last visit" and "Show new replies to your posts" links. There seems to be ample room in the format to insert that link. This probably would be of real use to a lot of users here. If it was there I could daily check ONLY the new ORIGINAL posts since my last visit. That way I could make sure I can catch all the new and exciting posts each day. It would enable us to skip through posts that are just 35 "congrats" posts. I do enjoy reading the "congrats" sometimes, but at other times it would be nice to skip to just new posts to make sure I catch all the new ones without spending an hour wading through ones I've already seen. No point wasting time that can be used for entering Sweeps, eh? (As one might notice, by my only 189 posts in 18 months, that I don't do a lot of "congrat" posts unless something "trips my trigger". I figure that at that rate I have only 86 months left before I get my 4th gold star!!! ) Maybe the GTB's might find it in their hearts to do that for us, their humble servants! Loren *Gods That Be

:sunny:Hi! I'd really like a Winners Page or area as I rarely can find the winners for the contests. I do check the "Winner's List" area but it seems to have few new additions and a lot of very old info. Please advise if I'm missing something. Congrats to all the winners and Good Luck to one and all!!

Email entries change requesthttp://www.sweepsadvantage.com/smf/empty-t43264.0.html;I like to enter for DVDs, and as we all know there are a lot of sites that don't use php, so you have to manually enter the info into your emailer. It would be great if the format of the SA sweeps listing page was html and we could have clickable links that would load our email programs with the required subject line.
Can this be done? As of now, I enter email sweeps at another sweeps site which formats in this way, but would rather not continue moving between sites.
Ken is looking into this, YAY!!!

http://www.sweepsadvantage.com/smf/general-sweepstakes-talk/can-we-please-add-blog-category-t44100.0.htmlThere are soooo many blog contests now and it takes forever to weed through the one-time entry sweeps now. It used to be fun to go through them, now most are blogs. It would be really nice to just have regular sweeps in the one-time category and blogs separately. To me, it seems, they are really just clogging up the one-time entries. Please???????

Haven't seen this request so thought I would just post it here.... I'd like to be able to search for sweeps where the prizes are for local events. For instance, many of Jambase's sweeps are for concert tickets and no transportation. I'd like to be able to search for the sweeps where the event the prize is for is located in let's say Michigan. Thus, I would see the conerts there, the sweeps for raceways in Michigan but not those in other states. This would require additional work on the part of the sweepstakes entry, where you geo-code entries in some way. Then, via power search, I can pick the state (or province or country) where the event is happening. This is different than local sweeps where you must live within a region to win, or limiting sweeps listings to only those available to where I live, like not listing any alcohol-related sweeps for those who live in California. (not a bad idea, too, since that info is already entered). Not an easy task to add but now that the more recent changes are settling down.... Need to come up with a new set of features for the next release...

This is a good one. I'll see what we can do. I need to get some bug fixes out to make Reminders better plus work on some older new feature requests first.
Thank You,
-Ken

Can we get a fix for the duplicate email notifications we get everytime someone responds to posted sweepstakes comments that we responded to. It doesn't seem to matter whether "post a comment" or "reply to comment" is used, and it seems to coincide to the number of comments made by each person; i.e., I leave four comments and receive four email notifications for each and every comment thereafter.
Thanks!

I'm not saying I like the current behavior but if you don't click "watch" each time you comment, you'll only get one for the first time you watch.

I'll have to test this because I was not aware that this could happen as long as you clicked un-watch...
Also, if you have more than one SA account with comment alerts set for each one this may account for duplicates.
The way it was programmed ..every time someone submitted a comment that you are watching you will get an email. Are you getting true duplicates or just email notifies from each new comment?

There's also been one other thing occuring in the comment section. Comments do not always show up in order. For example, I just posted a comment to someone's question. Afterward, I posted an answer. The answer showed before the other comment when it should have showed up afterwards. Plus, the time doesn't reflect that. Reply To This Comment - Topic: - Posted: Tue Aug 12, 2008 1:36 PM (first comment)lidarkside That would be www.engadget.com. The watch/unwatch work fine when you start by clicking on the "n Comments" link beneath the sweepstakes listing. The problem happens when you click on the "Post Comment" link. Each time you post, if the watch checkbox is ticked, it accumulates. Post 4 times and watch 2 means you will get 2 emails. Watch all four times and you get four emails. There doesn't appear to be a way to "unwatch" those.

Whether it is on or off by default shouldn't matter as far as behavior goes. While default off is better, if I check it multiple times I would still get multiple emails.

I was using "reply to comment" and was getting duplicates in my email. Then someone said to use "post comment" to stop it from doing that, but it's still doing it either way for me!

Please email me any duplicates you are getting and I'll remove them for you. I just removed the notify from the post comment form all together until I figure out what is wrong. Seems like it isn't checking for existing email before it sets a new one. Thanks, -Ken

The only thing I didn't particularly care for with the last upgrade is the pic, on the homepage, thats behind the Winners Circle. With the picture there is can sometimes make those posts hard to read. Would be easier to read the topic line if it was in bold print. Just something to keep in mind.
