Ormond Beach police are warning residents of a possible phone scam.

Just recently, according to police, someone called a woman and told her she had won $250,000 in a sweepstakes but that she had to wire $2,800 dollars to a location in Canada, WESH 2 News reported.

They called a second time asking for more money to cover taxes. The victim paid both times, but on the third call, police said she called them.

If you think you may have fallen for this, call Crimestoppers at 1-888 277-TIPS.

The government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
