are you trying to use them after you have saved the sweep? It wont work until you save it in your sweeps, then add the note.

After I logged off here, I found the comment box hidden underneath some opened tabs. This morning I started using comment notes but now it won't let me. Please help, thanks!

I'm fairly new and I'm entered into a contest where we need votes. I don't want to break the rules but I need to get more votes (I've tried the Vote Referrals section & there don't seem to be that many folks on there to vote for who I can ask to vote for me... I've pretty much voted for all the current Vote Referrals). So my questions are...
1) Can I send my Buddies a Personal Message & ask them to vote for me? 2) Can I send people who are not my buddies a Personal Message & ask them to vote for me?
I really need votes but I don't want to break the rules, and I can't find any rules about this anywhere.

There used to be a rules message in the Referral forum. We'll try to find out what happened to it. Having said that, I would highly discourage spamming strangers with your requests for votes via personal messages. That is the purpose of the Referrals forum. Post the request and be done with it. Given the nature of this site, frequently what happens is many members all want votes for the same contest so not everyone can vote for you if someone can only vote once / day (or just once). I see you've added something to your signature area. That is a reasonable use of the area. There is supposed to be a wait time for new members before they can post a vote request. I see you've been around for not quite a month. That may be part of some problems you've run into. Begging for votes doesn't help and discourages many people from voting. Only participating in the forums in the vote request / referral forum may also discourage people from voting. [I'm not saying you're doing the begging or only participating in the one forum, but wanted to mention why someone might not vote for someone else.] I'm fairly new and I'm entered into a contest where we need votes. 1) yes but they must be people you know 2) sending PM's to people you do not know is not allowed, that is spamming and they do tell us when this happens.

I've won music downloads, ebook codes, etc that I will never use. I'm looking for the proper place to post them so the the first person who wants them can use them. I saw SWAP or SELL, but I just want to give them away. GIVEAWAYS was not the place after I opened that tab up. Should I just put them in SWAP/SELL and note that they are free? If so, how do the codes get annotated as already taken so others don't try to use the code too? Thanks.

dagger66, one way you could do this would be:
Post in the Trade or Sell forum, including the word "Free" in the title of your post
Do not list the codes, but instead, ask members to send you a PM if interested
Give code(s) to first person who sends you a PM (reply to the PM by PM)
Post in your thread when the codes/items are taken

Hi everyone! I've been here for about a month but I have a question for you all. I've been wondering (and this might seem silly) about the possibility of not receiving a win notification if you've opted out of receiving emails from the people sponsoring a particular sweep. For instance..If I entered for a chance to win a $50 gift card from Glamour magazine (this is just an example) and I do NOT check the box that would opt in for a free newsletter or contests and website updates, am I possibly opting out of receiving a notification that I won their contest?? Could it be a little catch?? Like "ha ha she's opting out of our correspondances, but little does she know that she wont get the prize if she wins muahahahah" lmao I started worrying about that and would appreciate any input!

There are some sweeps that require you to subscribe to their newsletters to win. I don't believe Glamour is one of them. If in doubt, check the rules for the sweeps you are entering that ask you to sign up for their newsletters.

Most places that require you to signup for a newsletter won't let you enter the sweeps without checking off the subscribe box. It is more typical that you will get the notification emails that you won and not have to subscribe. Of course... its more typical that you won't even win....

That was a healthy dose of "Wake the hell up!!! I think I would have cozied up better to a firm back hand to the forehead! I'm aware of what odds are lol but I want to be sure that I'm not missing out on the one or two (Hey I can dream right along with all the other sweepers) that I MIGHT win (or have won). Thanks for that reality boost!! lmao ~Jes

Thanks arrtup3. We all hope to win and, especially being on this site, we all enter. Someone has to win that HGTV dream house each year....

Hello wonderful people! Though I wouldn't exactly call myself a newbie anymore, I do come up with questions from time to time. I've been told by successful sweepers that they enter 100+ sweeps per day. I'm just wondering HOW? I mean, where do you find them? I have entered MANY sweeps, but surely not 100 in a day. Accumulatively I've entered a couple hundred in the month and a half that I've been sweeping. I enter my dailies...daily. I enter a few instants (not too big on them) and I have entered dozens of one time entry sweeps. SA is a WONDERFUL place to find awesome sweepstakes, but I can never find a hundred to enter in one day. Are you finding hundreds of sweepstakes a day elsewhere? I do have roboform (which I love) and could enter a hundred a day easily if I knew where the heck to look. So, if you enter hundreds a day, could you let me in on your little secret? or would you have to kill me if you did? lol Thanks for any input. ~Jes
