This is the third time I am writing this post and it just goes along with the prayer I am trying to write. You ever have those times when you try and take 1 step forwards but end up taking 2 steps back? Well that's me today so I will pray for strength and may the Lord hear and answer my prayer.

1 Corinthians 10:13
For no temptation (no trial regarded as enticing to sin), [no matter how it comes or where it leads] has overtaken you and laid hold on you that is not common to man [that is, no temptation or trial has come to you that is beyond human resistance and that is not adjusted and adapted and belonging to human experience, and such as man can bear]. But God is faithful [to His Word and to His compassionate nature], and He [can be trusted] not to let you be tempted and tried and assayed beyond your ability and strength of resistance and power to endure, but with the temptation He will [always] also provide the way out (the means of escape to a landing place), that you may be capable and strong and powerful to bear up under it patiently.

I would also like to say that is why I like the amplified version of the Bible because it helps to get the true meaning of the verse you are reading. I think the scripture I just quoted is a good example. It shows that Paul was referring to the temptation as being sin and not God doesn't ever give me more than I can handle statement that a lot of people use this scripture for.

Well that's just my opinion anyways.

You know today I woke up and I got mad because of the pain that I have been having in my body and I just needed to share and hopefully this will get others mad enough to say I'm not taking pain anymore. In my devotional time this verse was given to me......

JESUS was wounded for MY transgressions JESUS was bruised for MY iniquities the chastisement of MY peace was upon JESUS and with JESUS' stripes I AM HEALED! Isaiah 53:5

I used the (JESUS) and (MY) to make it personal instead of the (HE) and (OUR) and (WE) that the verse uses.

Not trying to take over your prayer of the day Cin I just felt the need to share! sunny

Oh my gosh you are all welcome to join me in asking the Father for anything we need and want and that is why I started this thread for all of us who need it. I also agree with you in prayer for your healing. For with God all things are possible to those who believe Amen. I also love to praise him because he is in the midst of our praises and when we worship him he is there. I know you all can feel his presence when we praise. He is worthy of all praise and glory.

James 5:16
Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

I have been having problems sleeping and problems with anger & bitterness for quite some time now all because of past events in my life (abuse mostly, among other things).

I don't normally post things this personal, but I am trying VERY hard to overcome this and need ALL the help I can possibly get since I don't have a "support system" in real life in regards to this problem.

I pray daily for help, but I still can't stop thinking about the past events.  They roll over and over in my mind like a recording and I can't stop them for the life of me.

I have tried everything I can think of including therapy and medications.  None have worked.  So now that I have given up on the therapy/medication, I just pray each day and ask God to help me let this anger and bitterness go.

Some days are a lot worse than others.  Tonight it being a particularly bad night for me as it is after 1AM and I am still up with my "mind recording" playing keeping me awake.

Will someone please agree with me in prayer?  I strongly believe in the power of prayer, but this has such a strong hold on me I think I need more than just my own prayers.

Father, please take all the anger, hate and bitterness from the past out of my body.  It is damaging my health, making me sick, keeping me awake nights and making me miserable.  Please pluck this evil out of me like a grey hair from my head and allow me to breathe fresh, clean, good refreshing air.

Please Father, allow me to forget the past.  Please take it from me Father, it has become all consuming and more than I can bear.

Will someone agree with me?

Thank you
I am praying with you !!  hang in there

I will pray with you and agree with you I have been through similar experiences and I have overcome with Gods love I have had to forgive and let the anger go.

Lord help her to let go of the past because it is in the past and let her choose to live for now and the future with your love and peace in her soul. She does not need to give anyone power over her by not forgiving and she is a child of the most high God Amen.

I will PM you later or you Pm me anytime you need God bless

Matthew 6:14
For if you forgive people their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

This is truly the key to being free from the trials and troubles of this world. I know forgiveness has given me peace in my heart. I also know it is not an easy choice to make but with Gods grace all things are possible.

I've been where you are before and as Cin just posted the first thing you have to totally forgive the other person to begin healing. Once you totally forgive the person who abused you the healing will process will begin. It took me years to forgive the one who hurt me but when I did the Lord really started working in my life.

I stand in agreement with you for you to truly let the past hurt in your life go and for the Lord to start healing you completely. All things are possible with God and nothing is impossible with him.

If you get a chance watch the movie Facing the Giants and it will be a blessing. It showed me that with God all things are possible and to praise Him for everything good or bad.

sunny heartofgold, I am so glad you are opening up and getting this off your chest. This will help you heal. I have to tell you that my first husband was a very abusive monster. My life was h&#% with him. When I divorced him, I had nightmares for years, but never felt like I needed to seek revenge or let him still have control over me with hate. I continued to be nice to the monster knowing that eventually people are their own worst enemies and the best revenge is what these cruel people do to their own lives. He married someone who did some of the same things to him that he had done to me. Several years later, he finally apologized to me for all the h%@# he had put me through.  A perfect example of "What goes around, comes around". It may take years but it does happen.
Take peace in knowing that you are the better person and those who abused you will get their just desserts in the end and no longer have power over your feelings or your life.

I choose you Lord Jesus. I choose to follow you and to serve you I am so blessed just to wake up and breathe. I choose to read your love letters to me and learn from your ways. I choose to be chastised by you when I start to go in the wrong direction. You are a loving father who wants only the best for me and I want to make you proud.

Thank you for choosing me Amen

For the first time in my life I am reading the Bible from front to back. What is funny is I don't find myself getting bored at all with it. The last few books I have read have been about law and such like Pelican Brief.  Smile

That is wonderful I remember that feeling and it was the same I couldn't put it down and even 12 years later it's the same you never get enough and each time you read you will take away a different meaning in a passage. I think it's Gods way of placing his words in your heart and teaching us.

God bless and keep reading.

Before I post a prayer I try and pray that the Lord will put his words on my heart and I hope I am able to serve him by saying what he wants me to.

I am truly blessed to be a child of the most high God and know in my heart I can trust him with everything in my life. Even the smallest details are important to him. He cares about every breath I take and so many times I just need to remember just breathe.

Thank you Jesus for life in you and for breaths Amen

1 John 5
1EVERYONE WHO believes (adheres to, trusts, and relies on the fact) that Jesus is the Christ (the Messiah) is a born-again child of God; and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of Him (His offspring).
2By this we come to know (recognize and understand) that we love the children of God: when we love God and obey His commands (orders, charges)--[when we keep His ordinances and are mindful of His precepts and His teaching].

3For the [true] love of God is this: that we do His commands [keep His ordinances and are mindful of His precepts and teaching]. And these orders of His are not irksome (burdensome, oppressive, or grievous).

4For whatever is born of God is victorious over the world; and this is the victory that conquers the world, even our faith.

5Who is it that is victorious over [that conquers] the world but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on that fact]?

6This is He Who came by (with) water and blood [[a]His baptism and His death], Jesus Christ (the Messiah)--not by (in) the water only, but by (in) the water and the blood. And it is the [Holy] Spirit Who bears witness, because the [Holy] Spirit is the Truth.

    7So there are three witnesses in heaven: the Father, the Word and the Holy Spirit, and these three are One;

8and there are three witnesses on the earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree [are in unison; their testimony coincides].

9If we accept [as we do] the testimony of men [if we are willing to take human authority], the testimony of God is greater (of stronger authority), for this is the testimony of God, even the witness which He has borne regarding His Son.

10He who believes in the Son of God [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] has the testimony [possesses this divine attestation] within himself. He who does not believe God [in this way] has made Him out to be and represented Him as a liar, because he has not believed (put his faith in, adhered to, and relied on) the evidence (the testimony) that God has borne regarding His Son.

11And this is that testimony (that evidence): God gave us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

12He who possesses the Son has that life; he who does not possess the Son of God does not have that life.

13I write this to you who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) the name of the Son of God [in [c]the peculiar services and blessings conferred by Him on men], so that you may know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that you [already] have life, [d]yes, eternal life.

14And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us.

15And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.

16If anyone sees his brother [believer] committing a sin that does not [lead to] death (the extinguishing of life), he will pray and [God] will give him life [yes, He will grant life to all those whose sin is not one leading to death]. There is a sin [that leads] to death; I do not say that one should pray for that.

17All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin which does not [involve] death [that may be repented of and forgiven].

18We know [absolutely] that anyone born of God does not [deliberately and knowingly] practice committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches over and protects him [Christ's divine presence within him preserves him against the evil], and the wicked one does not lay hold (get a grip) on him or touch [him].

19We know [positively] that we are of God, and the whole world [around us] is under the power of the evil one.

20And we [have seen and] know [positively] that the Son of God has [actually] come to this world and has given us understanding and insight [progressively] to perceive (recognize) and come to know better and more clearly Him Who is true; and we are in Him Who is true--in His Son Jesus Christ (the Messiah). This [Man] is the true God and Life eternal.

21Little children, keep yourselves from idols (false gods)--[from anything and everything that would occupy the place in your heart due to God, from any sort of substitute for Him that would take first place in your life]. Amen (so let it be).

I Thank You Heavenly Father. For letting me now that you are always here regardless of what I'm going threw. You are A Faithful God. You never leave or forsake me.  Like 1Peter -1:7 say. That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though if be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. Lord I'm going to continue to stand and believe in your words.  In your name I pray. Amen
