I was thinking about starting this thread for a while and then I had the fire and got side tracked.

However, I thought it would be nice to have a specific thread (if that is OK with the mods and everyone) for prayer requests and for a prayer chain.

I am a firm believer in the power of prayer.

Please everyone, feel welcome to post your prayer requests and I will be a part of the prayer chain for you.

A specific event motivated me to start this thread this morning and I will post that prayer request below.

God Bless!

I will pray with you and others who have requests. The Bible says where two or more are joined I am there in the midst of them.

This is a wonderful thread!!  I would love to have this one on here!!

I have a prayer request of my own this afternoon ~ yesterday we were informed that my former FIL had passed away.  He had been really sick with cancer and was terrified of dying.  My son had senior night last night with the football team and you could tell that his heart was broken.  Please pray for my son, Travis, his Dad~David, and the rest of their family.  I pray that God grants them some kind of comfort in this time of sorrow!

I have a prayer request....My brother (47 next week) has been diagnosed with lung cancer(he's a nonsmoker). They have also found 3 tumors in his brain and 1 in his back. He is currently undergoing radiation treatments and then he will start chemo treatments. The statistics on this form of cancer are not good even with treatments but he is a devout Christian.  What can I say, the more prayers for him can't hurt.  Thank you all.

Of course we will pray for your brother and for you.

Lord we lift up a brother and sister to you and we ask for healing. Healing in a physical form and in an emotional form. Do a miracle for this man and get rid of the cancer in his body. Nothing is too hard for God. Lord heal his sisters heart and give her faith to walk through this trial. We stand in agreement in Jesus name I pray Amen

My brother shaved his head the other day because his hair was falling out in clumps. I haven't seen it yet, but my mother has and she says he looks good. He has his first chemo treatment today. He said it's 5 hours long. I pray for his strength and endurance. Peace...

It's so hard to watch our family go through this. My younger brother had leukemia about 7 years ago and he did the same thing when his hair started to fall out. It was so hard watching him go through all that chemo and then he had a bone marrow transplant. I remember praying to God saying please don't take him I'm not ready to see him go. He's ok today but I still worry about him getting sick again.

God bless and I will continue to pray for you all.

This thread has been reopened.  The opportunity to request or participate in a prayer chain with online friends and community members is a positive and supportive activity.

I am happy and thankful to see that this thread has been re-opened.  I hope it will help at least just one person.  That was my original intent in starting this thread.

I may not post, but I will read this thread and pray for anyone who requests prayer.

God bless you all!

Absolutely I will pray for Karin

Father we lift up Karin to you and we ask that she will have a good report from the Dr. because we know you are a God of miracles and you answer prayers. I also ask for peace to enter her mind that whatever happens in her life she does not need to worry because that won't change a thing. I pray for Karin's mom that she will face this challenge with peace and confort and strength. Lord thank you for good friends and give 3mnkids1 the assurance she needs to be there for her friend and to trust you Lord Amen

I will be praying also!  I know how lung cancer can affect a family and also breast cancer.  All of you are in my prayers.

Now I have another prayer request ~ I really don't know where to even start with this one, it will be sort of vague, but one of my very best friend (over 30 years) has done some things to me recently that are just unthinkable.  I am trying to find the way to forgive.  I know that will come, I am not so sure about the forgetting.  Everytime I try to talk to her now it is almost like she is trying to rub it in and it is really almost more than I can take right now.  She knows what I am going through and it has been nothing but a series of lies all summer.  I don't even know where to go with this one.  I am heartbroken.  It also involves another friend that I though that I could trust with all of my heart and now that is gone.  My foundation is shaken right now.  I have to admit that I have questioned about this one and I feel so guilty because I know that I am promise that if God bring me to it, He will bring me through it, but right now I have a hopeless and helpless feeling.  I am hurting like I haven't hurt in a long time.  Just say a prayer for me.  I try to get on here and be happy, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  Right now I'm not sleeping or eating and I am crying all the time.  I have had a headache for over a week.  I go to the doctor next week so I am trying to hold out until then if possible.  Thanks for being here.  I know I talk alot and tell people things that others wouldn't, but really, this place has become my family since I lost Momma and Pam.  You guys are the people that I talk to and depend on, so thanks for listening!

Father in heaven thank you for friends and thank you for family. I ask that you would take this burden from Tammy and give her peace. Sometimes life is hard but God. He will take you through and he cares for you just as he cares for all man kind. I pray that you touch the heart of everyone involved and reconcile these friends. In Jesus name I pray Amen.

I would like to ask for a prayer request.  My DH has been looking for a job for four months, and if everyone could keep him in their prayers, I would appreciate it--thank you very much.

I would like to ask for you to pray for my mom. I just got back from the hospital, to see how she is doing. She went into the emergency room today at 3 pm, she is still there now. Two days ago she had a "female surgery" to remove a pulip (dont know if I spelled that right) well anyways last night she only slept an hour. She said she just couldn't sleep. And all today she was having really bad stomach pains. She called the doctor, and she told her to go to er.  Well they are checking her out now. I think she is just overtired, stressed out, etc. I don't think its anything really bad.  She has been worrying about grading papers, "cause she is a teacher, and has lots to do" and every year she does a thanksgiving drive, for the students in the school who are needy and wont have a turkey, she brings turkey dinners to thier houses. So shes been stressing about that too. It's not good if she is sick because lots of people depend on her.  Kailey my 4 year old went with me to see my mom. Kailey thought it was really funny that grandma was wearing a "funny dress" and that she could see "grandmas underwear" when she stood up.  laughing

My mother-in-law was in a car wreck yesterday morning.  I got the call early and had Ashelyn here because she was sick with a sinus infection.  I took her down to Dad's and got to the hospital to find my MIL in the ER straped to back board, hooked up to IV's, and on oxygen.  It scared me to death.  She had been bleeding from her mouth and I could tell that she had been crying, but at least she was awake.

It took us hours at the hospital to get her ex-rayed, looked at by the doctors, and yes, finally ~ released!!!  Bless her heart ~ she is so sore.  I took her home and me and my other sil, Tammy went and got her medicine and bought us all dinner.

If you will just pray for her and my father in law.  Her car is a total loss.  They are living on a disablility check and it is going to be hard for them to make a car payment.  I just hope that she doesn't have long-term pain.  But on the bright side, we can replace the car, but not her sunny
