I GOT A BOOK IN THE MAIL TODAY FROM REIMAN PUBLICATIONS. I ASSUMED IT WAS A SURPRISE WIN, BUT ON FURTHER INSPECTION, THERE WAS A BILL ATTACHED FOR $31. I HAVE NOT KNOWINGLY ORDERED ANY BOOKS. IT HAD TO COME FROM ONE OF THE MANY SWEEPS THAT I ENTER. SO BEWARE, THEY ARE OUT TO GET YOU! I DON'T KNOW IF I SHOULD KEEP IT AND JUST NOT PAY OR WHAT. I DO NOT FEEL OBLIGATED TO PAY THE RETURN POSTAGE.    ANY ADVISE ??

 sunny Unless you want to pay the $31.00 you are obligated to return it. Luckily media mail postage is relatively inexpensive.

 My sister sent for a taste of home book one year. EVERY year after that for FIVE YEARS, they sent the yealry issue with a bill. She would call, write, etc, they wanted her to send it back at her expense, even tho she never ordered it. They said they automaticaly sent the next years one.

The problem was, they sent it to collection every year and it ended up on her credit

I'm shocked they still do this type of nonsense  cussing

I had them do the same thing to me, and I know for a fact I never ordered it.  I sent it back to them, with a note enclosed saying I would no longer be entering any of their sweepstakes.

I think they probably do it figuring "Well, they won't remember whether or not they checked the box, so they'll figure they did and pay for it.'  Since I NEVER check the boxes for 'free trials' or anything like that, I knew for a fact I hadn't ordered it.

  Just saw this. That is so messed up! I'd turn them over to the ftc and the bbb. I will stay away from these contest. Thanks for the heads up!
