Roboform It's a form filler, nothing more. Most sponsors get that and don't consider robo "automatic entry" - they are referring to "bots" or programs that enter FOR you. lwaxana:
A "bot" is an automated program that can be used for manipulating numerous email addresses, often for purposes of fraud. Sometimes cheaters write scripts that enter contests multiple times using many different email addresses for one person. The existence of bots is one reason why so many sweepstakes sites use "Captcha" code (words, letters, or numbers that you have to type in), so that they can make it difficult for non-humans to enter. However, some do say it is a macro, and therefore not allowed. Every person has to make the decision for themselves on whether or not to use Robo. RoboForm help!
OK, look in your toolbar (under back, next, stop, refresh, home buttons) for a button that says "identity editor" (if you can't find it there, look down by the clock and look for the green computer icon, right click on it and scroll up to "show toolbar" and it will put Roboform on your toolbar), now click it and it will open up into a pop up box. in the pop up box you will see several tabs ( and a tiny scroll bar) fill out the section called "person" with all your information. scroll right to "address" and fill that out. scroll right again, until you get to the tab that says "authentication", click it and you can fill out your favorite password (that you use for all your sweeping sites). if you keep going right, you will find "custom"; In this section if you want Robo to answer "no" for do you want newsletters, offers etc put this in in the "Field Name" box put in "oi offer", in the "Field Value" fill out "no" and in "Other Match Strings" put in "oi" to say thank you in any comment box on a sweep, out this in "Field Name" put in "comments", in the "Field Value" fill out "Thank you, for holding such a wonderful giveaway, I truly appreciate it!", and in "Other Match Strings" put in "comment" to have the check mark for "I have read the rules" to be filled for you.. in the "Field Name" box put in "i have read the rules and regulations", in the "Field Value" fill out "yes", and in "Other Match Strings" put in "i have read the terms" to fill out "how did you hear about this sweep...in the "Field Name" box put in "how did you hear about the contest", in the "Field Value" fill out "a friend", and in "Other Match Strings" put in "how did you hear about us"
don't forget that when you are done, to click the button that says "save and close" (left side, just under the word "identity"
Now when ever you get to a page with a form on it (other than flash sites...robo doesn't work on those) all you have to do is look up in your tool bar for your name and click your name, and Robo will fill out the form for you! If you come across a form, that Robo doesn't fill in correctly, make any changes as needed to the form, then look up in your toolbar for the button thats says "save" click it and it will save the form with all the changes in it, so the next time you come back to that page, you will click the name of the page (between logins and your name) and it will fill the form exactly as you saved it!!

Does this program enter you into contests automatically or do you have to be at your PC to tell it what to fill? Right now I use Firefox browser which has an autofill, it makes it quicker to do sweeps but not quick enough (I have dial-up). Please let me know. Thanks.

aslong as you didn't give it a new password you should be fine because robo-form will remember the password, I usually don't use robo on e-mail, but only on sweeps and forms.

Many sweeps say - "Use of any automated system to submit entries is prohibited and will result in disqualification. " in the rules....does autofill count as that? Nope... and RoboForm ( www.roboform.com ) is not consider an automated filler either :D when the rules say "Use of any automated system to submit entries is prohibited and will result in disqualification." they mean services that enter you automatically for you. and you never even see the sponsors website. With autofill and Roboform you actually have to go to the websites and click the submit button yourself and see the sponsors website (which is what they want, for you to look around their website). happy sweeping

I'm new to doing sweeps.
Are those who are administering the sweepstakes able to identify who is using autofill or Roboform?
Who uses these programs? Do all of you use them? Would you advise we do if we do not?

short answer is no, and what is meant by automated entry is what is known as a bot system that goes out and enters entries @ sites without even going to these sites , this is what sponsors are complaining about not autofill or robo-form.That is why they use security numbers that must be filled out in contests, and sometimes leave info that can't be filled out totally by a bot system which effects an auto fill system. That is why you still have to look and see that all the info is filled out.

auto-fill works just fine as you said, robo-form does offer you to remember multiple passcodes and passwords as well as login info. And has a few added things that you can tell it to look for or fill out that auto-fill does not. It is a preference as to what you like!

It took me several tries before I figured out robo. I had auto fill for a long time and the only complaint I had is it wouldnt fill in the birthday. auto fill is better than typing everything.

I used the free version for a long time, after using autofill for about 6 months, and I remember I was able to enter sweeps miuch faster with it. I've been using the pro version (1x payment of $30 I think?) for months now, and I LOVE it!!! Those sweeps that have the same questions everyday? I just fill out the form then save it in robo - naming it whatever I choose - then 1 click & the form is filled!!! I usually have 6+ windows open, with 20+ sweeps per window, and it's a breeze!!!

Just an fyi. Roboform is not a Macro. Some sweepstakes rules say no Macros. Ezsweeps, Accuwin and other auto entry sites use scripts or macros to enter you automaticly. This is what they are referring to.

3mnkids1 - I have my sweeps bookmarked in Firefox, I just open 6+ windows, then hit open in tabs. I can do all 14 folders at once, but I usually try to do less so I don't get bogged down. Especially by those resource hogs like the Sharp & Hebrew National This laptop is really fast too

Can we sticky this? So many people have Roboform questions. I am going to start using Robo soon and would like to begin a discussion on the program.
When using Roboform, do you use the bookmarks functions, or do you open links using MySweeps? Some of the sweeps links don't go directly to the login, so I imagine Robo would hold the link to the right place.
Do the Robo bookmarks open all at once, as tabs?

Doesn't Roboform have a function to automatically uncheck boxes? I'm looking and can't find this function.

If you go to Options, Context Menu from Roboform there are a couple of clearing options.

"Alt +" will check the "No" boxes or the boxes in the right column or all the boxes depending on the form.
"Alt 0" will uncheck and clear out everything.
